left to right is jarod then kevin and rocket captain AJ

A woo-hoo......I am now 21 and my weekend of drinking fun has ended. On Saturday night I went out with my dad and saw Jersey Girl. Not a bad movie from Kevin Smith, definitely someting not of his standard fare, but pretty damn good nonetheless. Shortly afterwards it was midnight and I went with my dad to a bar, the Knights of Columbus. It was practically dead, I had three drinks, a Smirnoff Ice and two tall taps of Bud Light while I bullshitted with my dad and the bartender. I didn't really feel that bad for making a whole helluva lot more out of it, but oh well. Usually you'd think someone on the minute they'd turn 21 they'd go out with all there friends, but I decided to with my pops figuring I had the rest of the weekend for that.

On the rest of b-day on Sunday I went out to Buffalo Wild Wings with Joey, Ann, Jane, Shawn, Adrian, and my mom. Got a free Long Island Tea for my B-Day drink and Shawn bought me a Yager Bomb. Got back home and got some cool gifts. A luggage set from my mom, and a bunch of movies I asked for: Philadelphia, Phone Booth, Memento, and Pulp Fiction on DVD. Around 9pm I met up with Corey and Carlos at Wild Wings again for drinking since we thought the bars were all closed on Sunday. We were there till about 11:30, and I had a tall Bud Light, a whiskey and coke, and 2 wells rums and cokes. We went to the El Roco club later and was surprised it was even open on Sunday night, let alone to 1am. Played a little pool and had a Morgan and Coke and Malibu and Coke. Felt a little good buzz going for a while, but nothing as heavy as I probably should have on my big day. We played pool till they kicked us out at closing time, we were gonna watch one of my movies, but then Corey decided to bust, and then I did too. I got home and watched Memento, and it is one very trippy movie, really gotta keep thinking hard through a movie that plays backwards like that. Hell, even the DVD menus are a trip and a half, as going to the feature menus multiple times has the list of extras jumbled up and it reverses the directional commands on your remote. If you wanna watch one creepy-ass movie that'll keep ya thinking, especially when intoxicated I highly recommend this ;)

On Sunday, Rocket came over at 8am with AJ, and Kevin. We went to the store and I bought a more expensive bottle of EJ (about $26, which is quite a bit more than the $15 bottle I usually get). It didn't even taste that different when mixed with Coke. It was my first time ever purchasing alcohol at a liquor store, Rocket also matched me with a liter of Captain Morgan's. We met up at Jarod's place and bullshitted a while and played some Tekken Tag and Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain on PS2. I only think I had about a quarter, maybe a third of my bottle as I shared it a bit more than I thought I did. Jarod kept taking straight shots out of it for a while, and oh well, with that and a little bit of the Morgan Richard gave me I had the best buzz I had going all weekend. In the height of it me and Rich walked a few block to Taco Bell to get some munchies, I think we pissed off the cashier as we were drunk and rambling about how expensive the tacos were and shit, I don't really remember. I do remember on the way back I took several random photos of myself and my surroundings to see how bad I was, I got pics of AJ, Kevin, Rocket, and Kevin above too.

Got back home about a lil after midnight. A little earlier then I wanted to, but AJ and Richard had to leave to work morning shifts. Got DD'd home by AJ, thankfully Jarod's place is only about a 10-15 minute walk away, which is a bit shorter than the near hour walk I had to Carlos's about a month ago. Watched Phone Booth when I got back, which is another freaking good movie. Very fast-paced, but a damn good thriller I must say. Then I watched Pulp Fiction, it is the first I caught it in its entirety. Very damn good, and a helluva lot better than the bits and pieces that I recalled I caught off television several years ago. Quarentino's dialogue is just top-notch and so damn believable and easy to relate too and just doesn't seem so fake like so many movies out there. Damn good I got it on DVD now, the extras are damn spiffy too, watched a healthy amount of them afterwards like the half hour Siskel and Ebert special on it, a near hour or so feature on Pulp Fiction that had interviews with all cast and crew, interviews with Tarantino at an award ceremony. A lot of good extras I must admit.

Speaking of all those DVD's actually has got me thinking of getting into reviewing DVD's for a nice change of pace lately, I'd probably post them here and maybe Amazon.com but that would be it. Writing game reviews hasn't been too much fun lately, I just wrote one for the first time in about two and a half months for MTX Mototrax. Click here to check it out. Tho its not that great I have to admit, just running through the numbers as it is hard to motivate myself to write a review for a game I cannot enjoy lately.

One other thing I'd like to mention is that a lot of people I know are finally getting jobs. Kevin got the first job I ever knew he had dishing overnight at the I-29 cafe. Rocket has been working at Taco John's for about a month now. AJ is......a.........working in the form of a lot of Community Service for some shit he did. And my bro Joey got his first job as a cook at KFC. It's nice to have a few more friends that make money now so I can actually go out and do more shit. Well, thats about all from me, quite a fun b-day weekend I have to say, but I felt I could of made a little bit more of it. Oh well, there will be plenty more down the road.......Latez!
