The past few days have come and gone, and it was all right to say the least. On Sunday I went with my dad and attended a wake and vigil service for my uncle who passed away. He lived quite the successful life, and there were a lot of people there. One part of the wake was where people went up to the podium and shared some fond memories or stories of Uncle Louie, and about 10 people went up and shared their stories. One of which I'll remember the most was a student of Louie's that went up and spoke. My Uncle tought Accounting at the local University for over 40 years. This student said he dropped out of college after his sixth year, and one day he got a phone call from my Uncle telling him 'don't quit now, you've came this far' and got him a spot back in college. He said if it wasn't for him, he wouldn't have known where his life would be right now. To know my Uncle to do such a good deed as that, as to change someone's life around is truly amazing.
After the vigil, I went out with a bunch of my cousins around my age for some drinks as Buffalo Wild Wings, I had a blast with them, I can't believe I've had these cool cousins that I've been neglecting for so long. Then Monday morning came, and it was time for the funeral. This was the second funeral I was a paulbearer for, the other was for my grandma a little under two years ago. The funeral went as any other would go, and within a few hours it was all said and done. Well....it was nice knowing you Uncle Louie, I know you are in a far better place right now, I hope to someday see you down the road, someplace else.
