Hello everybody! First off, it's fellow reviewer's Jeremy's 21st B-Day, here's my shout out to ya man! This Coor's is for you!

Been way too busy lately to do my usual scheduled updates. But now I finally have some spare time. Last half of the work week went by pretty easy, as we had a lot less of a major workload on our hands. On Wendesday I got a long overdue haircut, I was starting to get quite a thick head of hair, as one fellow co-worker said my hair was starting to represent a mop. On Thursday I got my 4 free microsoft games in the mail. Only one I liked of them so far was Project Gotham 2 however.
On Friday I hung out with Jarod, and his gal, Dawn. We saw the movie Anchorman, which reminded me a bit of Dodge Ball because it started a bit corny as I suspected, but the plot actually got better as the movie continued and I was into it a bit towards the end. Afterwards we all went to Whitey's and had a few drinks and shot a few rounds of pool. I also blew 12 bucks on pull tabs, so huzzah for me. Dropped Jarod off shortly afterwards, and then Joey came over and we played a few games, and I ordered him a computer online that he paid me money for to order through my credit card. He got a pretty good system too, a p4 2.6 ghz, 256 ddr ram, 80gig hard drive, cd/cdrw drives, monitor, software package for $690 bucks, but tax upped it to $740. Thank God Dell has free shipping on orders over $650.
On Saturday I went over to my mom's as Sherrie, Rob, Nicole, Jane, Bob, and Summer all visited to celebrate my mom's b-day early. We went out for lunch at Applebee's, and then got home and visited a while. Played this new dice game called Greed which I did well at and won, but later on I lost at a board game I'm fond of called Outburst. Had a pretty good day visiting with the family, with some odd moments tho as usual. Joey likes to yell out random gibberish at the weirdest moments, and came off incoherently quite a few times like he usually does.
After that, I visited Ann at Dad's for a short while. Ann just got a used Ford Taurus from a dealership, unfortunately it is already giving her troubles. Sister seems to be doing pretty good making money at her new job making plane parts for $10/hour. I'm trying to get good advice from her about this one gal she use to knew named Vivian. I ran into her a few times recently and get along with her great as I use to work with her way back from my Hardees days. Ann says she had a bad background and advises me to stay away from her, but I just get this weird gut instinct around her that says I should go for it. So who knows what I'll do.
Feel bad for not visiting my dad tho as much as I use to. My folks were divorced and I only visited my dad on the weekends, we had a blast gaming and doing other fun sports and camping while growing up. I remember we got an NES when it first came out with my Mom, but she never let us buy any games so all we did was rent. My dad was always a generation behind on games, when the SNES just came out my dad got an Atari 2600, and we all use to play that all the time. I remember our classics on there were Ms. Pac Man, Bowling, and Pitfall. Y'know what? reminiscing about this isn't so bad after all, since it was my dad where I was able to play most of my games with as I was growing up, so I think I'll do a little timeline here about how I got into gaming over the years....enjoy!
About a year or so later after we got the Atari around 1992-1993 we got a dirt cheap NES at a rummage sale and used that as our main source of gaming. We amassed a 40-50 or so game collection of NES games from countless garage sales that we played to death. I played a little bit of single player games I wasted many hours in like the original Zelda, or the classic Maniac Mansion. Our family mostly did multiplayer games tho, we actually had the NES 4-player adaptor and we were into a lot of 4 player games like Super Sprint, RC Pro AM 2, and Super Off Road. Tho ones we wasted the most hours in were Gauntlet 2 and NES Play Action Football. I swear Gauntlet 2 must have no ending as one day Ann, Joey, Dad, and I played it several hours straight and gave up playing after level 155 or somewhere around there. That's when I was really into wrestling games too, and while the NES had its fair share of duds like WWF Steel Cage Challenge, and Pro Wrestling (admit it, asides from the cheesy grammar error that generated a cult following, this game blew), it also had a lot of classics like Tecmo Wrestling, WWF Wrestlemania Challenge, and WCW Wrestling to name a few.
I remember back in the day in September 1996, the month the N64 came out, my dad just got a Super Nintendo. I was so happy. Our first game: one of the best fighting games of all time, Street Fighter 2: Turbo. I clocked countless hours into that, but unfortunately the SNES was mostly a sports system for me as 80% of my games for it were either Football or Basketball titles. Only other main-non sports titles I got into on that system were the compilation of Mario All-Stars, WWF Royal Rumble & RAW, and one of my favorite RPG's of all time, Shadowrun.
It was also around this time I started hanging out with the same Rich who just left for the Navy last October. He had an NES, SNES and Genesis and I was almost over at his place every day to play it. At first we played a lot of multiplayer battles in Final Fantasy 3/6. Then we got a bit into sports games, and I remember us clocking in tons of hours in old Genesis hits like Madden '97, Mutant League Football, and Evander Holyfield's "Real Deal" Boxing. Then shortly after that Rich got the Sega Channel and me and him were practically like addicts on that. In the several months he had it, we were heavily into Skitchin', Super Volleyball, General Chaos, and Tiny Toons Acme All-Stars. I loved those games so much that I tracked all four of them down off of half.com within the last year or two and added them to my Genesis collection. One of the last games I got for the SNES was NBA Hangtime, and boy did Rich and I clock in countless hours in that, practically over 200 games on our profiles. We played that game to hell and back against each other.
Then for Christmas of '97 my dad got an N64 for Joey and I. I was so frigging happy. The first two games I got for it: Cruis 'n USA and Mario Kart 64. I remember my family and I doing countless rounds against each other in Mario Kart and we simply had a blast. Hell, even during days I slept over at buddies, we'd go over to my dads for pizza and some N64 action. The N64 is hands down, one of the greatest multi-player consoles of all time. Our family got into other titles for N64 that we played religiously like Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Super Smash Bros, Road Rash 64, Destruction Derby 64, WWF Warzone, and eventually all 4 aki wrestling games (world tour, revenge, wm2000, and no mercy, which I still play regularly to this day). All these titles I listed were the ones I spent countless hours in with my friends and siblings. I lost track of all the hours Joey, Rich, and I wasted in the AKI wrestling games and Perfect Dark.
My dad played lots of N64 games over the years with me, but the ones we played the most together were Mario Kart 64, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and The New Tetris. Now if you played The New Tetris before, you know about completing about a grand total of a million lines to complete building all 7 wonders of the world. My dad ended up being a pro at that Tetris, and he played that game forever, he'd play until he'd get his nam on all the top 10 lists and made sure to play it and top his score over and over until all other players scores were off there. After owning the game for about 2 and a half to three years, we eventually completed all 7 wonders.
Those were the good old days of gaming I miss the most, I mean sure I enjoy it as much as the nextguy when gaming with my friends all the time, but it just doesn't seem to be the same as it use to be since I got a job and picked up the Dreamcast, and PS2 on their launches, and eventually picked up an X-Box and GameCube. I still visit my dad, but we barely play games that much together as now its just grabbing a bite and visiting for the most part. You know what, I think I'm going to pick up the PS2 versions of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and invite him over soon one of these days.
