Hey yo! Had another fairly entertaining weekend. On Friday Carlos came over and him and I had a few brews and played some poker. Carlos taught me the ropes of Texas Hold 'em, I liked it actually and look forward to playing it with some more people. After he left around 9pm, I continued my sports franchises by doing a few rounds in NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona, ESPN NFL Football, and ESPN College Hoops. After that I did a round of Showdown: LoW against the computer and then called it a night.

Saturday I picked up Joey and we grabbed another cheap pizza at Little Caesar's. There large $5 cheese or pepporoni pizza has become my favorite stop lately, and that was the fourth time hitting it up within the past month. After some lunch, we picked up Steve and headed to my place and did a couple rounds of Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain and then our traditional round of Monopoly. After a nice winning streak, Joey's reign of terror finally came to an end as he was out first, and then Steve ousted me to get his first win against us in quite some time. Shortly after that, we played a couple rounds of Showdown and then chatted with Rocket on the Internet for awhile before finishing up that night.

Sunday was quite an interesting day. I don't recall if I mentioned it in here before, but Circuit City had a big clearence sale on its game by having well over 200 titles being marked down to $5. However, the nearest Circuit City to us was 250 miles away in St. Cloud. And Chris was really persistent on making the journey, so around 8am, Chris, Kyle, and I did an 8 hour round trip just to get some games. Yes, video game geeks, and proud of it.

Even though the sale started there a week ago, they still had a bunch of stuff leftover. However, 80% of what was left were 2002 and 2003 edition sports games. I was about to get 8 or 9 titles, but then realized I'm getting a lot of older football games and I have two on reserve I'm getting within weeks so I wisely decided against getting ESPN Primetime 2002, Blitz 2002, Knockout Kings 2002, and IndyCar series. I ended up buying Pro Race Driver (PS2), NBA Live 2003 (Xbox), ESPN Soccer 2002 (GCN), Courtside 2002 (GCN), and QB Club 2002 (GCN), I also picked up Splinter Cell (GCN) for a friend. I also decided to pick up Hoosiers and 61* on DVD there since they were only $10 and $7 there, respectively. Kyle got 6 games and Chris got about 10 or so, both of them mostly got sports titles, which is odd as both aren't that avid fans of sports games.

After the 8 hours+ of driving with all the stops figured in for eating and bathroom breaks, we got back into town, and Chris came over to my apartment and we watched the Butterfly Effect he just got on DVD. The DVD had a directors cut we watched, and man did it have a completely different ending. Both had about the same different outcomes, but boy did it blow me away. After that Chris left, and I watched Hoosiers, and damn is that a great sports movie. Ranks right up there with my all-time faves Rudy, Major League, and Any Given Sunday.

Whoo, another painfully long entry, hope everyone managed to read it allright. Until next time, latez!
