Hiya. Weekend went by ok, on Friday Scott came by and we had another close game of Madden, this time with him getting a touchdown in the final seconds for a win. Shortly after that he had to go and meet his ride for outta town, he told me he's going to the lake for the weekend with his family and then going will be moving to Fargo on Monday. Shortly after I dropped Scott off, I picked up Steve and we hung out for a lil while, I conquered him on PS2 Madden, but after that he went online in ESPN Basketball on PS2 for a few games against some opponents, while I just dilly-dallied on the PC, then it was vice versa for a little while after that.

Dropped Steve off around 1am or so, and then I decided to catch up on some of my franchises in ESPN College Hoops and ESPN NFL Football by playing a game apiece in them. After that I finally popped in NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona on GCN. It was an old review game I eventually traded in at Gamestop, but regretted doing so cause I couldn't stand the fact that I was doing shitty. However, I tracked it down on half.com not to long ago for about $15 new, and started plugging away again Friday night. I spent that night going through some of the Beat the Heat and Pro Trainer scenarios, fun stuff. I finally got a good feel for cornering in that game as it was my main gripe with it before.

On Saturday I made a trip to Gamestop and dropped off my application, it would be nice to see if I can get a part time job there so I can get a little bit of extra money on the side, that and I hear they get 25% off brand new games so that would definitely help on my games budget. I picked Joey up and was going to take him to a few places around town, but it freaking poored an inch of rain in 10 minutes, and the sewers couldn't handle it all so fast so the streets were flooded for a couple hours. After all that mess happened I went joined Corey at Carlos's for some drinking and gaming. I brought over NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona and we played some multi-player in that, and then some NASCAR Thunder 2003. Thunder definitely has the prettier graphics, but it is much harder to turn in that than DtD. Finally I got bored off my ass as we played two rounds of Tiger Woods 2003.

Came back home, and played a helluva lot more of Dirt to Daytona. Finished off my last 3 races of my first year in career mode, and did several more in my second year, I used my low-place winnings to upgrade a few parts and immediately my driving improved, and I was surprised as hell when I was able to string together a couple Top 5 finishes. After a bit of DtD, a popped in Good Will Hunting for the first time in quite a while. That movie is still one of my faves, it is very similar to 1980-best picture winning classic, Ordinary People. If you've seen GWH, and not Ordinary People yet, make sure to do so cause you more than likely enjoy it as much as GWH.

I've been watching these VH1 best of countdowns over the weekend, and they had some interesting things going on. On Friday night they had the Top 40 moments of reality tv. I myself am a casual fan of that type of programming and will watch it whenever I run across it channel surfing, which isn't too often, so I enjoyed it quite a bit as I saw so many classic moments for the first time such as that one guy off Cheater getting stabbed, the Survivor chicks stripping, Timberlake getting punked, and of course, that one weird little chinese kid doing some killer karaoke on American Idol. That was my favorite of the three VH1 countdowns I saw over the weekend. Tho the other two were still pretty good, as former WWE star Steve Austin found new employment by hosting VH1's Top 40 Celebrity feuds of all time that had toppers like Michael Jackson vs. one of the Beatle's, Van Halen having a clash of wits, and other classic feuds. The other one was the top 40 awesomely bad songs of all time, and well that speaks for itself.

I really wanted to do something special on the fourth of July on Sunday, I decided I was going to spend it with the family since I haven't seen the fireworks with them in a few years. I met up with Jane and Shawn at the Blue Moose for lunch around 4pm. Things were going along fine until they got into what I thought was just a silly fight on how early they got into town (they live about 15 miles outside of town) and what they'd do to kill time until the fireworks, things got serious tho when both tried to point the blame at each other to see who's idea it was to arrive in town so early. Jane, then got sick to her stomach from the pasta she had, and both got really bitchy and they decided to head back home, and said they'd give me a call when they got back into town to catch the fireworks.

I then decided to go to the town square and see the activities going on as a band and a bunch of vendors were there and I thought I'd at least run into some old acquaintences there I'd be able to converse with, but after walking around there listening to some crappy violin player for 15 minutes I couldn't find anyone I knew there and decided to leave. Jane and Shawn never called me back that night, I didn't really think they would either. So I just sat at my apartment all night, except for when I went for a little walk when I heard the fireworks going off in hopes of seeing them across town, but I was barely able to make out just a few glimpses of them. Talked to Rich & Rocket on the phone and got back in touch with them. Other than that tho, just played Dirt to Daytona all night and finished off my second season in first place standings in the Dirt league, so huzzah for me!
