two turntables on a microphone roadkill and jizaroo dukin it out in some Tekken Tag

Hey Yo! I'm a few days into my ultra long weekend. On Saturday I played a couple rounds in my Franchise in ESPN NFL 2K5, but near the end of my second game the Xbox froze up as I got disconnected off Xbox Live (since NFL 2k5 is one of those 'always online' titles) via Joey connecting to Xbox Live same time as me. So all my progress was for nothing. Later on that night, Joe and I went to Wild Wings for some dinner, but the Wings tasted like shit that night, which is uncharacteristic of BWW as their wings are usually top notch. Anyhoo, visited the family for a lil bit afterwards then headed back home around midnight. On Saturday I had to find something to do to adjust my sleep pattern so I can get up extra early this Tuesday, so I stayed up on a movie marathon. Here's some mini-reviews:

Bourne Supremacy: I liked it slightly better than the last Bourne film. The last car chase seen was really intense, and the action as a whole I enjoyed a bit better than the original. I'd give it about an 8.5/10

Collateral: This film ended up being a lot better than what I expected it to be, filled with lots of action, and plenty of nice spots of humor for a sigh of relief. This kinda translates to Phone Booth....in a cab, but only about 60% of the movie is placed in the cab. Great ending too, I really enjoyed this one. 9.5/10

Kill Bill 2: A lot less action than the first one, though the few fight scenes in here do make up for it greatly. There's a lot more backstory involved on how Bill messed up Uma's wedding, and how Uma got trained in and such. The last half hour was also brilliantly put together, and the soundtrack for it is creepingly superb, with all the seemingly-exagerrated tones kicking in at just the right moments. A bit better than Volume 1, I highly recommend it: 9/10

On Sunday, I woke up a lot earlier than usual and was actually able to catch church for the first time in a couple of months with my Dad. Went for some breakfast afterwards, my dad said he wanted to see the new Aliens vs Predator movie also and I said I'd meet him later to catch the matinee. Not to long after that I get a call from Chris saying how him and Jarod wanted to catch the very same flick! So all of us went to it together, and while it started off great although quite predictable, things took a turn for the worse at the end. **Partial Spoiler** The freaking ending blew, and the loophole shouldn't have been there at the end, and how the hell is that chick going to get back home anyways if she is the only one left, shes prolly gonna freeze to death!!! Overall, I'm gonna have to say 6.5/10, and a recommendation to rent and yell at the lame ending! **end spoiler**

After the movie, my dad dropped us off at my place afterwards and we played some good 'ol Tekken Tag while Jarod drank himself into his usual drunk stupor. I forgot how much fun Tekken Tag Tournament was (IMO, it was the best PS2 launch title), we duked it out in a whole bunch of bouts for a good hour or so, and then later got into a long Tekken Bowling marathon. I forgot how that almost eclipsed the actual Tekken game itself. I love fighting games that have fun mini-games like Tekken Tag did. I'm already looking forward to Mortal Kombat: Deception, as I was a big fan of the gameplay introduced in Deadly Alliance, and the Puzzle Kombat and Chess modes look mighty interesting too!

Rocket IM'd while Chris & Jarod got their Tekken on (pictured above) and Chris, Jarod, and I voice chatted with Rocket for a good half hour or so. Jarod especially was all over the place on the mic (also pictured above). Afterwards Chris threw in Tales of Symphonia on the GCN and we tried it out for 15 minutes or so, looked interesting, but we stopped playing it after we gave up figuring out how to get the multiplayer support to work.

Dropped Jarod and Dawn off, watched a lil G4 with Chris. It seems like the network has mostly G4 shows, as the only Tech TV shows I still recognized being aired are The Screensavers, Robot Wars, and X-Play. Not that that's a bad thing cuz I never really cared for Tech TV that much when it was around in the first place. I like a lot of the G4 shows like Pulse, Arena, Electronic Playground, and Judgment Day being my favorite, even tho I don't necessarly agree with their opinions all the time. Anywho, dropped Chris off and now I'm about to retire.

But before I do leave I have to mention the 49ers had their first preseason game of the year a couple days ago, and the came close to winning, but lost 33-30 by a time expiring field goal. It also didn't help matters that Fred Beasley ended up getting injured early on and will most likely be out until the start of the season. Vikings had their first pre-season game and beat the Cardinals, thank God. And hey, Brock Lesnar got his first ever tackle to a standing ovation...good for him!

Ok......now I'm finally done........audios!
