Man, what a weird-ass weekend it has been. Well, Friday started off ordinary enough, didn't really do a whole lot, ran a couple of errands, got the Season 2 redvsblue DVD in the mail that day. Watched the episodes of Smackdown and TNA I taped. Smackdown was decent, had some good matches. Kidman & London look like a very promising tag team and I hope they get a good run with the titles. I was literally shocked with Spike Dudley turning heel. I never saw it coming because I don't ever recall him turning heel before, not even in his crazy ECW days. TNA was another decent show, good to see they're getting some top talent on there finally, tho I'm not that big of a Jeff Hardy fan. The alpha-male reminds me of a coked up Michael Jackson, and he has got to have one of the worst finishers next to Crush's heart punch.
Ann said she'd give me a call around 10pm or so to swing by and do something, but she didn't get ahold of me for a while later, so I just kicked back and watched the commentary and checked out the extras on the new RVB DVD. Another great package those guys have thrown together, for an Independent company, they sure as hell can release one hell of a DVD. Ann finally got ahold of me around 6am (she said she overslept big time) and we she treated me to some breakfast.
Saturday......lol......Saturday. First, I went over to Steve's and played some Showdown and beat him a round in ESPN NFL 2K5. It was the night before Corey's birthday and he came over and we played a quick round of ESPN NFL 2K5 where I shut him out with the Jets of all teams against his Lions. We then hit up Buffalo Wild Wings to get some drinks and wings. Was gonna try and get some people over there but Jim & Carlos were both busy and couldn't make it. I hate going out drinking if it is just me and one other dude cuz I'm usually crappy at holding a conversation. Surprisingly things went pretty well that day, bs'd a bit about sports and work, and got Corey to admit some things he hated about working with Carlos!!! Told him how I felt about Target and why I have no desire in advancing over there, I trust Corey pretty well, but I have a slight feeling the stuff I say will come right back to me from someone else.
Anywho, we had some drinks and had a bit more fun than I originally thought, and got back to my place and watched the feature on the Chris Benoit DVD, the WWE did one bang up job on the documentary, covered a lot of great spots and had lots of classic footage from Benoit's early days in Japan and ECW. Corey left, but I was still in a drinking mood and kept making screwdriver after screwdriver, and boy did I get sloshed. I went on an drunken internet massacre where all I could remember is typing a bunch of random crap on the RC board and messaging a bunch of random people on AIM. Don't ask me how, but I also managed to write a 1000+ word review on ESPN NBA Basktetball in that state. I think this one will stick just on GameFAQs, thank god for auto spell and grammar check in MSword or else the review could have been a lot worse than it was. Can't believe some of the crap I wrote in it, click here to see my review . Well, I always wanted to see what it would be like to write a review drunk, and now all you guys can find out too.
I didn't really recover too well from my drunken-iss, I ended up barfing for an hour or so, and then all I remember is waking up after being passed out on my bathroom floor for a few hours. I then had a horrendous hangover for a little while, I recuperated by watching almost all of the extra matches on the Benoit DVD.
This obviously made me feeling like crap for most of Sunday, didn't really start feeling normal until around 6pm, went over to moms and hung out with Joe and played some Project Gotham 2 with him and watched the whole season 2 of redvsblue. Then picked up some groceries with the last of my little bit of money, got a call from Rich and found out he's going to get married soon down there. Said he's going to Vegas to get hitched this coming weekend, best of luck to him with that. Then just relaxed for a while, watched The Girl Next Door. Things weren't looking too good during the first half of the movie, but things really started picking up from the halfway point on. It obviously had its korny moments, but dammit they were worth every second, I highly recommend it.
That wraps it up for that crazy weekend, looking forward to tomorrow. Three great things: I'll have to decide weather or not to tape RAW (which has been on an almost unstoppable hot streak since the end of 2003) or the opening pre-season game of the NFL. Decision, Decisions......Elway and Barry Sanders got inducted into the NFL yesterday, and both had it coming in to them for a long time. Also, Madden 2005 comes out tomorrow, looking forward to it, hopefully I should get online as I'm part of the percentage of Xbox users who get that 'cannot validate online roster' error and cant get online. Sega says they'll have an update available on 8/16, which was delayed originally from 8/6, so who knows with them. According to the rumor mill, this will be the last EA NFL game using the Madden monikor as EA plans to do some big relaunch with the series next season like they previously did with their baseball, NASCAR, and boxing franchises. It's just too damn bad I have to work tonight.
Noooow I'm done, if you managed to read it down this far, then I salute you. Lata!
