Man, I am getting a lot farther inbetween these entries than I wanted to, call it an undesired combination of lack of motivation and being too busy :D
Finished up the work week with no problems. I got a much needed haircut on Wendesday while I ran around and did a couple of errands with Steve. Other than that the work week was same old same old. I got all the videos I ordered online in the mail on Wendesday too. I got 24 season 1 set, Boys & Girls VHS, and THUG 2 on Xbox.
Latest television thoughts.....I read the Taboo Tuesday results, sounded like a fairly decent show with the main event between Orton and Flair looked to be a classic and an injured Shawn Michaels working a helluva match with HHH. From the results tho the rest of the card didn't sound all that spectacular, especially the women's matches. Smackdown is slowly getting better, Carlito Cool actually looks like he has potential in a gutsy move of the WWE to put the US belt on him in his debut match. Booker T/JBL feud currently forming looks to be the best one yet out of Bradshaw's rather unmemorable title reign. I hope they give the Book the belt. He deserves it. TNA was what it is, it is starting to get a bit repetitive now, I'm tired of seeing Petey Williams and Jeff Jarrett squashes each week. I hate most of the WWE/WCW washups save for Disco, Dlo, and Raven, but that's it :) Victory Road actually sounds like it can be a good card tho. Don't ya think they're contradicting themselves by saying 'the old world is crumbling' and promoting that yesteryear's stars like Hall, Nash, and Piper are making their return to TNA at this show? Nevertheless, I hope it ends up being a success.
Weekend went rather strange. Friday was fine, Joey and Steve came over but we didn't really do anything. Steve lately has this bad habit of just getting music online and burning it on cds the last few times he's been over. Either Joe and I want to play a game that Steve doesn't so he just surfs online and vice versa. In this scenario, Joe and I played MK: Deception and Thug2, while Steve and I battled it out in Showdown and Day of Reckoning. We did try to get our first round of Monopoly going in quite some time, but about 40 minutes in Steve got pissed cause he didn't catch Joey landing on Park Place that he owned and he missed out on collecting his $35 rent. He then accused Joey of being a cheater and tossed my Monopoly board on my living room floor. That prick.
On Saturday I got together with Jarod and Dawn and his friend Quimby along with his girlfriend April. We went cosmic bowling and I actually did really well, for me anyways. I bowled a 102, 106, and 133. In that last game I had 2 strikes and 4 spares, my score probably would have been better if I wouldn't of had a gutter ball after one of the spares. Afterwards, we went to see that new movie at the theatre, "The Grudge." The movie's plot was pretty much crap, but in shock value it sure as scared the shit out of me. It had some major suspense build up, and if it wasn't for Jarod & Quimby being so drunk off their ass in the theatre and laughing throughout almost the entire flick I doubt I would have been able to keep my composure as good as I did. Hell, the first major scare scene alone resulted in damn near the entire theatre screaming out loud.
After that weird experience, I dropped them all off and headed home and watched disc one of the six disc 24 season one set. I recognized a couple of other movie actors in there before they hit it big. Like that one chick who rips off Sarah Michelle Gellar from Cruel Intentions in Not Another Teen Movie plays one of the terrorist chicks, and the Bower daughter that gets kidnapped is the main porn star in The Girl Next Door. I am really impressed with the series thus far, interesting concept of course and the plot is also keeping me on the edge of my seat wondering what the hell is going to happen next. I'm just trying to picture what it must have been like for that one gal in the first four hours of the season, who got boned, slipped a ruphee, had her arm broken with a crowbar, then got on a heroin high, and finally ended the wild night by getting hit dead on with a car would have felt like, freaking unbelievable.
Sunday was another fun day of NFL action. 49ers have a bye this week so I was spared one of their humiliating losses. Vikings did good with Moss and Bennett in their severely limited roles. Mwelde Moore tho looks to be doing great tho, and I can't believe the Vikes have 4 good running backs when teams like Tampa Bay and Miami struggle to have just one. Giants lost though, Warner wasn't on his game tonight, but he didn't do as bad as he did in his final years at St. Louis. Eagles/Browns was a lot more exciting than what I anticipated, I didn't expect it to become an overtime classic. Good to see New Orleans pick up a win too, they really needed one badly. During the second set of games Carlos swung by and showed me the new Dodge Truck he bought. Really huge 4x4 v8 engine. Damn good ride indeed. Shortly after that Corey came over and we did our first night of gaming in quite some time. Did a lil bit of THUG 2, NBA 2K5, NASCAR 2005, Eve of Destruction, Knights of the Old Republic, and Day of Reckoning.
That wraps up another week for me, be back in a couple days with my Fantasy update!
