Man, what a lameass weekend, some brief bright spots, but overall pretty miserable. Started out on Friday when Steve came over, said he had the new GTA San Andreas to show off. Sounded fine and dandy to me, he tells me I can just continue off my save and do whatever while he catches up on email and shit on my PC. Now this may sound like nothing out of the blue at first, but the last couple times Steve was over, he spent over several hours on my pc burning cds while browsing my music libraries. Some friend, eh?
So I tell him fine surf the web, just no cd burning this time. So I check out San Andreas, and it plays mostly the same, just a lot more stuff to do, and I like the countryside, actually feels like driving on the Interstate oddly. Anywho, I get all caught up in it and do a couple missions and next thing I know I was playing it for an hour. So I go, 'hey Steve lez get some of our usual NBA 2K5 or Showdown on!' but Steve says he wanted to try out NHL 2K5, and I figured since I was playin for over an hour, I'd let him play a round or two, but he eventually played on and on, said he was going to stop, but kept on playing. I woulda just kicked him off but I got IM'd from Rocket and he wanted to play War3 online and by that point I didn't care anymore. After War3, I installed some old PC classics I havent played in forever such as Starcraft, and Monopoly and I played both for a while, and by the time I was done with both of those Steve was still playing NHL 2K5. He ended up playing 10 rounds of it in the span of two hours and then he wanted to get dropped off. Man, that dude is really ticking me off lately by pulling crap like that. Ya, so that was my Friday in a nutshell. Got back home and watched a couple more 24 episodes and played a lil more of my 24/7 NBA 2K5 season before hitting the hay.
Saturday was a bit better, got together with Joey, Chris, and Kyle and we played X-Men Legends co-op......for 7 hours straight. Yes, it's that addicting, I had to make two quick stops inbetween it to get Chris to do an errand and drop Joey off, but overall a really fun experience. That game is one of the best console Action-RPG's I've played thus far. Totally outclasses Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath. I got home after that gaming bliss and doodled around on some more of my 24/7 mode.
I then watched the Boys and Girl tape I got in the mail a week ago. It was about 3 or 4 years since I saw the movie in theatres, and I didn't know how well it'd hold up over time. I didn't really like it in the first place, and only reasons I purchased it was because we gave a co-worker named Steve crap about the character Steve in the movie, and the fact it was just 75 cents! To my surprise, I enjoyed the movie immensely. I usually hate Freddy Prinze Jr, especially in 'Shes all That' and 'ScoobyDoo' but this one was great. I dunno why, but this one actually told I good story I guess, and Jason Biggs provides the right amount of comic relief whenever things get a bit dry or too korny. But yeah, I usually hate all teen flicks, unless they're done right, and I'm talking about the rated PG/PG-13 ones that are aimed for the mainstream audience. And I can only think of three of them that I enjoyed: Can't Hardly Wait, Boys and Girls, Mean Girls. Yes, guilty pleasures and proud of it.
Unfortunately I couldn't get much sleep going into Halloween, so I kinda spent it in a dazed state on my couch watching NFL pregame shows and whatnot. Glad to see the Giants beat the Vikes, shitty to see the 49ers blow another one. Dorsey is failing on all levels as the back-up. I was off on a lot of my picks. I ended up getting only 2 hours of sleep before getting woken up by a phone call of my family inviting me over for pizza. So that was a minor bright spot of the day, but I was so out of it I didn't feel like searching for any bars are attempting to find any Halloween parties whatsoever. A very disappointing Halloween to say the least.
That wraps up this crummy weekend, if you managed to read this far then the more power to ya! Latez.
