Another long weekend

Just wrapped up my four day weekend. Went by incredibly fast as usual. Wendesday was my first day off and I didn't really do much of anything, didn't even leave my place I believe. Just slept in really late after the hellacious week and kicked back, played some NBA 2K5 and Halo 2. I applied for the Tech also in East side, and I already got a packet from them in the mail the other day. So this Monday I gotta make a trip over for a lot of paperwork I have to do. Thursday was a busy day of errand running. Bounced back and fourth between insurance companies trying to find a good deal to repair my vehicle. I got to pay a $500 which blows, and my insurance company referred me to a body shop that gave me an $800 estimate. Luckily, my coworker has a brother that runs his own auto body shop, and he is able to get good used parts and get the thing done for around $350 he said, so hopefully I will save a bit when I bring my vehicle in this Monday.

I also went in for my orientation at GameStop on Thursday, just did a bunch of paperwork. I'm still thinking this job is a total waste of time tho, I only make minimum wage, and I'm only scheduled for a whopping 2 hours next week. I hope it goes up a little bit, but we'll just have to wait and see. After GameStop orientation, hung out with Steve for a while, after a couple hours tho around midnight I was dead tired after all the erran running and told Steve to do whatever so I took a quick nap. Steve stayed up playing NHL 2K5 online until 4am. I don't know why that guy loves his hockey games so much, but everyone has their addictions.

Friday was a lot more of the same errand running, getting Joey a gift and some X-Mas shopping with the family. Got virtually no sleep those days. Friday was Joe's B-Day, and it went OK. Went to Wild Wings for Dinner with Ann, Jane, Shawn, Joe, and my parents. Went fine and all, but Shawn went crazy at the fact my mom brought Cake and Ice Cream to have there. Said he was really embarrased or whatever, and acted like a total jerk. Sheesh. Went back to mom's to visit for awhile afterwards, and then Joe and Chris came to my place to hangout for the night and we stayed up playing Need for Speed Underground 2 and Halo 2 all night. Also watched Van Wilder. Aside from a few really gross parts, it was a damn funny movie worthy of the National Lampoon's name.

The Halo 2 marathon lasted until about 5am Saturday morning before passing out until 1pm or so. Dropped Joe and Chris off. Went and visit Bob for a short while, he managed to sell my old trench coat I had that I never wore, and got $20 for me out of it. I probably could have gotten more, but didn't really care, it was just sitting in my closet and I never wore it in over two years. Hung out with Steve again and played a bunch of Smackdown vs RAW against each other before I dropped him off for work.

G4's lineup of programming

So right now I've just been watching my cassette of tv shows I tape during the week. Like the new G4 programs that air Friday night, TNA, Joey, and Smackdown. G4 actually has some damn good shows, my favorite ones right now are Judgment Day (I met Tommy at E3 last year), their reviews are very down-to-earth and I trust their opinions, even tho I necessarily don't agree with them at times. I like Filter too, depending upon the countdown they have for each week. X-Play also rocks, their theme episodes are also pretty humorous. There are a couple shows I can't stand tho. G4tv.com is almost like a chore to watch, only part I like about it is the callers who put a little bit of thought in their questions and some of the guests they bring in to interview. The thing that ruins the show is the horrendous hosts they have.

Ditto with Pulse. Their main two 'anchors' are a joke. They're just so.....fake. Then when you think they couldn't get any worse, they had this oriental gal substituting for the female anchor last week, and she is twice as bad as the regular host! Only part thats decent to watch is when they report news, and maybe one of 7 or 8 special features they run are entertaining too. Other shows G4 have I don't have too much of or have an opinion on are Cheat, why watch a show about cheat codes when I can look up any of them within seconds on a webpage? Then there's Sweat, a program about celebrities and the games they like. Meh at best.

Pacers/Pistons brawl...OMG!!!?!?

Before I take off, did you guys see that insane Pacers/Pistons brawl???? Insane!!! Ya, it is both Artest & Ben Wallace's fault. They couldn't handle the situations. Foul's are part of the game, and Wallace couldn't handle the foul. Sure, it was a harder one than usual, and he shoved Wallace, not just any shove tho, but one that almost knocked him on his ass. I don't blame Artest for laying down and playing it cool, albeit a bit too cocky IMO, sure it made him a big target for the beer throwing, but if I was Artest ya damn right I would have assaulted the fan as well. Damn Detroit fans are rabid I tells ya. I really hope Artest doesn't get the worst of this, but I got a gut instinct he will. I'm surprised I didn't see Rasheed Wallace in part of the fight, he's usally one of the more physical guys on the team.

Sad part about this is with 3 of the Pacers' players already on injured reserve, and another 3 getting suspeneded, the Pacers are only dressing 8 guys tonight, 2 of whom who cannot play because they got serious injuries that limit them to very little to literally no play time whatsoever. So there's only gonna be 6 guys playing for the Pacers for awhile, 4 of whom who will be playing for almost the entire game. I'm gonna be watching their next few games for sure.

That's it for today, thanks for sticking with me for yet another long entry, latez.
