Howdy everyone, tiz been a good week. First off I got a new review up for WWE Smackdown vs RAW, click here to see it. The work week went by a bit faster than usual, I had my 3 year anniversary review and ended up with a 35 cents raise, so I now make $9.25/hr (10.25 on weekends) so huzzah for me. After finishing up my work week with a 12 hour day, I get another 2 day weekend I'm already on the verge of wrapping up. Went pretty well, started it off by probably getting the most amount of groceries in one outing since I moved to my apartment. Made sure to stock up for the month on spaghetti, mac and cheese, frozed dinners and all that fun stuff. Got some new wrestling goodies in the mail, finally got Scott Keith's 3rd book, titled "Wrestling's One Ring Circus, the death of the WWF." The other thing I got was WWE's "Rise and Fall of ECW" DVD, couldn't pass that one up for the feature itself although I almost have all its extra matches on the Pioneer ECW DVD's released a couple years back.

Friday night Dad took me out to eat and we caught that play "A Streetcar Named Desire" y'know the one Marge played a main part in that Season 4 episode of the Simpsons? My Dad didn't care for it too much, but I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Right after that, Joe and Chris came over to supposedly spend the night for an all-night gaming marathon, which of course was almost entirely devoted to Halo 2. We got past a few levels in my campaign which was pretty fun, and the way it played was nearly identical to the first one, but with much amped up graphics and cut-scenes. An awesome experience indeed. Then we played Halo 2 online multiplayer.....for about 13 hours straight into 8am in the morning! In-between some rounds I grilled up some burgers for us on my George Foreman Grill....first time I used that, can't believe I went that long without using it after seeing how fast it was to cook burgers on it, anywho....Man is that online play addictive, I guess the only way to level up your profile is to do matchmaking arranged games much like the same fashion in Warcraft 3. I like doing those big team battles, the arranged matchmaking service places you in a random map in a random game type each time. When I first heard about this I was skeptical, but after a while it ended up as a great way to learn the maps and other modes like Capture the Flag, Assault, Oddball, and Territories. I ended up giving Joe a ride back at 8am so he can just head straight home to work when he wakes up, and I only got about 2 hours of sleep due to Chris getting a call around 11am saying he needed a ride home for an errand that suddenly came up.

The next day Steve swung by, and he did a few more rounds of NHL 2K5 online, but not nearly the insane amount he did a couple weeks back. I wanted to get him to try Halo 2 online first, but he was all "no thats not my type of game, I'm not into FPS's" I then ask him if he liked the legendary Goldeneye and Perfect Dark games on N64, to which he replied yes, and frankly I didn't know a soul who didn't like those pair or titles that were argubaly some of the best console FPS games (in both single and multiplayer departments) that generation. I said this is what that game feels like, it caters towards that console crowd for everyone, not just a loyal fanbase like Half-Life, Doom, Timesplitters, Red Faction, Medal of Honor, etc. That is what's so great about Halo 2. Easy to learn controls and exhilrating gameplay that almost anyone can pick up and play, but takes days of devotion to master. However Steve still didn't bite the bullett and just wanted to play hockey again so he played about 3 or 4 quick games, but the funny thing while I was surfing the 'net he kept telling me how each different opponent was telling him on the headset how good Halo 2 was and if he tried it out yet. So finally he decided to give it a spin, and after several games he was really into it and starting to get a grasp upon things in some awesome Team Slayer and Capture the Flag matches. When that was all said and done I totaled up about spending 12 hours of my weekend playing Halo 2. And I enjoyed almost every minute of it. If this game doesn't win game of the year (yes I even think it'll best the uber-mainstream popular San Andreas for the honor) then I will be utterly shocked.

I'm dreading all the X-Mas shopping I have to do, and that's including the fact that our family exchanges names and I only have to buy for the sibling I drew for and my parents. Unfortunately there are also other events that occur around that time. In late November it's Joe's b-day so I have to get him something. In mid-December I'm chippin nearly $30 with other family members for a rocking chair for celebrating Jane having her second kid. Oh yeah, I also found out I'm celebrating X-Mas dinner at my place when we celebrate it with my dad, so imagine all the cash I'll blow prepping up for that.

This all actually forced me to consider getting a second temporary holiday help job until the end of the year until college starts. I always wanted to work at a game store to see how that'd be like, I always get a kick out of convincing my friends to purchase a game they were hesitant at first getting. I applied at a Gamestop a few months back but never heard back from them, I decided to apply at the other game store in town, Software Etc (which is still a subsidiary of Gamestop I believe)that is in the mall today and about 15 minutes after I applied I got a call from them scheduling me for an interview this Monday. I really hope I get the job, would be cool to actually to pay off the extra little bit on my credit card and have a little more than enough spending money for Christmas gifts. The discount on the games wouldn't hurt either :)

That's wraps it up for this week..latez
