If you haven't noticed, for the past 2+ years, WWE has been putting out some pretty damn impressive DVDs that started back in 2002 with the Hulk Still Rules and Rey 619 DVDs. The feature documentaries on the disc actually started to range from decent at worst (Hulk Still Rules, Guerrero's DVD) to the many mind-blowing ones this past year (Benoit Hard Knocks, Rise and Fall of ECW). They even did a change of pace and focus some DVDs mostly on the matches with little interviews leading up to the match to set up the backstory (i.e.: Flair Collection, and Foley's Greatest Hits). Best of all almost every DVD they released is packed with several awesome matches from spanning the superstars entire career.

Now I know you're wondering what this is leading up to by now. I got an interesting little concept on how WWF/E should do a certain set of DVDs and can make a lot of money. I'm going to call them "Year in Review" sets. I'd break down the year I'm covering in chronological order with constant narrative in-between segments to cue viewers in on backstory and whatnot so the scenes don't lose the viewer. Have the good to high quality matches that deserve it in their entirety, and matches that may have only been average at best recapped/highlighted due to the fact of their sheer importance of the industry. Of course pack this baby with all the extra little promos and other bonus matches relevant to this part of the industry to make it a sure-fire best seller. Since each year had a lot to cover, each year in review would be a 2-disc set. For example, here is what I'd include for the 1996 WWF Year in Review DVD set:

WWF - 1996 Year in Review

-Intro highlights the major story near the end of 1995 being HBK's big concussion from the real life brawl he suffered in a bar parking lot, and his failed comeback where he "collapsed" in a match with Owen Hart in 11/1995. This segment continually recaps Shawn's second comeback and his quest to enter the Rumble match.
-Highlights of '96 Rumble match, with HBK winning his second straight Royal Rumble to win his title shot at Wrestlemania
- Recap of Goldusts controversial character debutin in 1995 and his feud with Razor Ramon eclipsing at the '96 Royal Rumble, highlights from that IC title match where Goldust wins the belt from Razor after 1-2-3 Kid interferes
-Bret Hart vs. Diesel, WWF Title Cage Match, February IYH
-Random awesome match from a March episode of RAW: Hakushi vs. 1-2-3 Kid
-Bret Hart vs HHH, WWF TitleMarch RAW
-Recap of Austin debutin in the WWE as Ringmaster with Ted Dibiase as his manager, recaps his first major feud in the WWF with Savio Vega, with the feud culminating at Wrestlemania and highlights of their surprisingly good WM12 encounter
-HBK vs Bret Hart, Iron Man WWF Title Match, Wrestlemania 12
-Razor Ramon vs Vader, April IYH
-HBK vs Diesel, No Holds Barred WWF Title, April IYH
-Recap of WCW raiding WWF's two main draws in Razor & Diesel, highlights last night working in company at May 1996 house show at MSG where the cliq unites one last time in the ring, and HHH being punished jobbing for the next several months
-Recap of debut of horrendous gimmicks entering WWF in mid-1996: The Pug, The Goon, New Rockers (sob), TL Hopper, Salvatore Sincere, etc.
-HBK vs Vader, WWF Title, Summerslam
-Undetaker vs Mankind, Broiler Room Brawl, Summerslam
-Smoking Gunns vs. Owen Hart & British Bulldog, WWF Tag Titles, Sep IYH: Mind Games (important because it launched the longest WWF title reign in the past 15-20 years)
-Recap/Highlights of Ross turning against WWF and bringing in the fake Razor Ramon/Diesel
-Recap/Highlights of Mr Perfects failed return to the ring and his feud with HHH, which leads too...
-Marc Mero vs HHH, IC Title, October RAW
-HHH vs Steve Austin, October IYH, Buried Alive
-Recap of continuing Mankind/Undetaker feud, highlights of the first ever Buried Alive match between them at Oct IYH
-Recap of Austin going mad and turning on Brian Pillman on Oct episode of Superstar and doing the famous "Pillmanizer" to his knee, then showing the even more controversial segment where Austin raids Pillman's home, and beats up his friends and the whole "gun" showdown between Austin and Pillman, Austin going mad and his other continuing feud leads up into..
-Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin, Survivor Series
-Highlights of the Rock's entrance into the WWF as Rocky Maivia and highlights of his first televised match where he ended up being the sole survivor for his elimination match at the Survivor Series
-Recap of HBK's title reign ending at Survivor Series, and how Bret gets in the mix and how Shawn ruins his title match at Dec IYH against Sid
-Conclusion on how this was a shitty financial year for the WWE when they were on the brink of bankruptcy losing horrendously to Nitro in the Monday Night Wars, but hint on how they're about to bounce back in 1997 and shill that year's DVD
