too many good wrestling DVDs coming out and announced lately
I just watched all the extras and the Hall of Fame ceremony from the Wrestlemania 21 DVD set. Iron Sheik gave a hilarious acceptance speech, he spoke like he was a dictator through damn near the entire thing. Jimmy Hart and Hogan were great in their roles too.
Then in a couple weeks the WWE releases a pair of old school DVDs. "Superstar of the 80s" chronicles a bunch of classic WWE/WCW/AWA matches with lots of bonus matches in their entirety. Then there is going to another 2-disc set covering the rise and fall of the Road Warriors with a helluva lot of bonus matches. Now I just heard the WWE has announced another host of best-of DVD multi-disc sets, and even tho I'm not the biggest fan of some of the wrestler's they're covering now, I will probably buy them all regardless because I was once a fan of them, and for all the old-school nostalgia factor.
They just announced 3-disc best of undertaker,3-disc best of HHH,3-disc best of Ladder matches,2-disc ECW Greatest matches
Yeah, I'm going to take a guess at what is going to be on those DVD as far as match listings goes as far as match quality and signifigance in their career goes. Let me start off with the one I'm anticipating the least, the Taker DVD
+Significant matches
-WWE 1990 Survivor Series debut 8man elimination match
-Wrestlemania 7, 1991, first Wrestlemania against Snuka
-Suvivor Series 1991 WWE Title win over Hulk Hogan
-Survivor Series 1992, first Casket match against Kamala
-Summerslam 1996, Broiler Room Brawl against Mankind
-October 1996 IYH: Buried Alive, first Buried Alive match against Mankind
-April 1998 IYH: First Inferno match against Kane
+actual good matches
-July 1997 IYH: WWE Title defense against Vader
-October 1997 IYH Badd Blood: First Hell in a Cell against Shawn Michaels
-7/2002 RAW: vs. Jeff Hardy, Ladder Match
-Wrestlemania X7: vs HHH
-Wrestlemania X8: vs Ric Flair
-Wrestlemania 21: vs Randy Orton
-that one Smackdown from 2003 where he put over John Cena in a good match
i kinda give up on thinking of actually good Taker matches, few and far between, now that I think of it, dunno if I'll get this DVD now...
My best of Ladder Match picks
Wrestlemania X: HBK vs Razor
Summerslam '95: HBK vs Razor II
Summerslam '98: Rock vs HHH
No Mercy '99: Edge/Christian vs Hardy Boyz
Royal Rumble 2001: Benoit vs. Jericho
TLC I, II, & III
Wrestlemania 21: Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Honorable mentions: Taker vs Hardy (July '02 RAW), Triangle Ladder Match (WM16), Triple Threat Ladder Match (Starrcade 2000)
My Best of Triple H Match picks
vs. Steve Austin (Oct '96 IYH: Buried Alive)
vs. Mankind (Cage Match, SS '97)
vs. Cactus Jack (9/97 RAW)
vs. Rock (SS '98 Ladder Match)
Six Pack Challenge (Unforgiven '99)
vs. Cactus Jack (Royal Rumble 2000)
vs. Cactus Jack (Hell in a Cell, No Way Out 2000)
vs. Rock (Iron Man Match, Judgment Day 2000)
vs. Steve Austin (3 Stages of Hell, No Way Out 2001)
HHH/Stone Cold vs Benoit/Jericho (5/2001 RAW, where HHH tears quad)
vs. Shawn Michaels (12/2003 RAW)
vs. Shawn Michaels & Chris Benoit (Wrestlemania 20)
damn, I'm spent, I know I'm missig a few in each of them but I tried not to include ones where they lost unless it was that damn great of a match
