-What a week, we finally got some warm weather going on here lately. 80s and 90s for damn near the whole week, well deserved after our crummy May and early June. The weather has been so hot that it forced me to finally get an Air Conditioner. Sadly, even with all my windows open and fans going at once my place was still a roasting hotbed. So I decided to fork over $80 for a cheapo GE A/C. It cools my place just enough to make a difference and make it more comfortable to live in.
-Only other big thing that happened this week was me finally switching my cell phone carrier over to Verizon after being stuck with CellularOne (a subsidary of Cingular I believe) for almost four years. I have been wanting to switch for awhile, as rapidly increasing monthly taxes, broken promises, and phones crapping out on me have left me very dissatisfied with them. Their stupid contracts left me stuck with them until now and I was finally able to switch carriers and managed to keep my same number as well.
-How about them Spurs. For the first several years I loosely followed basketball, they were my team. I was a big fan of the Elliot-David Robinson combo. They are on a roll now, their third championship within seven years huzzah for them. Duncan had me worried in the first half with his horrible field goal percentage, but he turned it around big time and came through in the second half.
-The wrestling scene has been picking up lately. I saw the ECW One Night Stand PPV a couple weeks back. I was mighty impressed with WWE's representation of ECW, for the most part they managed to keep an authentic ECW feel, with the similar arena and a few of the older wrestlers keeping their ECW themes (yes Sandman came out to Metallica and boy did the crowd sing along word for word). Matches ranged from fair to great. With Awesome/Tanaka stealing the show with their amazing spotfest. It's good to see that the WWE must have been impressed with them too as Super Crazy, Psicosis, and Kid Kash have all recently been appearing on WWE programming. I'm really pulling for Kid Kash, that guy has potential to be huge. I was a big fan of him and Lance Hoyt in his TNA run up until a few months ago, and I still recall Kash's first and only WCW match, that was at least a **** classic against Jason Jett/EZ Money on the last episode of Thunder.
Things have been more interesting lately too on RAW and Smackdown with the draft. I think it is kind of odd that it looks like they are going to keep both the WWE and World titles on RAW now that Smackdown announced they are going to make a new Smackdown champion next week. I thought they'd draft Cena back on the last week of the draft but now I'm guessing they'll prolly unify both the WWE and World titles within a couple months. I was kind of surprised to see Carlito drafted to RAW, he seemed like he found his role in Smackdown perfectly with the Cabana segment and all. Too bad they ended Benjamin's nice long IC title reign out of the blue like that with no build and a crummy finish. Next I'm guessing they'll prolly draft Eddy or Rey on RAW as they just ended their feud. I'm predicting Eddy as the more likely role as Rey would still mesh with the cruiserweights pretty good, and I can see him feuding with that new Mexi-Cools faction for awhile too.
-The weekend should be pretty good, I hope to catch a flick or two at the theatre and go to a demolition derby event for the first time in years. Tiz all for now
