this was the first time I seen DJ in about 4 years

-The guy in the pic above with me is DJ, he graduated with me in 2001, and is one of the few people who attended school with me every grade from Kindergarten all the way through my Senior year at Central. Until about 5 hours ago around 11:30pm last night I didn't see him in over 4 years, since graduation I believe. His mom lives in the apartment building next to me and she must have pointed him in my direction, we talked for awhile and caught up on things for about a half hour or so. He is doing real well right now. He is living in Chicago, is married and has two kids. Felt great to talk to him again, and I can only wish the best of luck to him.

-Work/school week went by allright. Comp and Drawing have been going by real well for me, but I am having troubles motivating myself to keep up with College Algebra. The dude who sat next to me this past week during class is like me too and says he has trouble keeping up in homework. Hopefully I will get back in the swing of things there, I just want to get Math over with so I can focus more on other classes.

-On Friday I talked to Jane on the phone for about a half an hour, I really haven't seen her that much this past couple months, and I always enjoy my time with her. We were discussing about possible cities we would like to live in the future and I told her I would like to live in Omaha. That town has has seemed like an ideal place for me lately. It has a slightly warmer climate, not that bad of a crime rate as far as I understand, nowhere near natural disaster areas other than tornadoes (and I worry about those enough as it is up here) and the bigger population means a lot more job oppurtunities. I told her I would like to pursue my career goals a few years down the road once I get my associates degree, but she suggested I get an internship down there while I transfer to school down there. Guess it is something to think about for awhile.

-I got the latest update of Yahoo messenger and it actually has a nice feature to it, a yahoo radio station selecter. There's a good hard rock station on there and the commercials are kept to a minimum, just one 30 second ad every two or three songs. And best of all, it is easy to access right off the messenger instead of being a cluster of menus like off of Windows Media Player. If you have Yahoo Messenger I highly recommend trying it out. Only bad thing about the latest update is like all other messenger updates and a lot of other applications it tries to shill its damn Internet toolbar. I'm glad I just don't click next all the time and default install everything like I use to or else I'd have about a dozen 'net toolbars right about now.

-Last week I finally finished that Dean Koontz book, 'By the Light of the Moon' I was reading that I started up around last April or May or so. It ended up being a far better read once I got into the story a bit later than I expected. But once it hooked me in I enjoyed every page of it, this has been the suspense/thriller story I have been craving for awhile. I think I might have to hunt down a couple other books by him sometime down the road. About a week ago I started reading Steve Regals' autobiography, and am already several chapters into it. I'm about his wrestling in Europe right now, and he has a bunch of great old road stories that had me in stitches. My only gripe with the book so far is that it seems to have some unneeded filler by quoting passages from the book on the same they are written on almost every page of the novel. Other than that, I am really digging this book so far.

-Friday was a great day for gaming. Corey came over and later Kevin joined us for a little bit. Corey and I watched two Hell in a Cell matches with Undertaker, his classic against Mankind, and his bloodbath against Brock. We then played a round of NBA 2K5 where my Cavs beat his Nets by 9 points, if it wasn't for Lebron being the all-star he was I would have been done. I then barely managed to beat Kevin by 3 points where my Rockets beat his Heat in a very close, intense match-up. To end the gaming marathon we booted up NFL 2K5 and Corey and I had had a close, high-scoring match where my Jaguars beat his Falcons by a TD. I actually got a player milestone unlocked in that game, which is extremely hard to do in NFL 2K5. There is one for the star player on each team, you unlock the milestone by performing a really good statistical feat in the game. I usually don't pass that much and am lucky to usually average a half a dozen completions in the game, but I did surprisingly well with Leftwich and went 19 for 28 with 3 TD passes and over 300 yards passing. The milestone was achieve no turnover with Leftwhich with a minimum of 25 passing attemts. I'm thinking by turnover the game must mean fumbles because I recall throwing 3 interceptions that same game, but I still am happy to get that rare milestone accomplished.

-Saturday I hung out with Joe and Chris for awhile. We all went to Gamestop where they had a yellow tag sale with games and accs. marked down an extra $5-$10. Joey picked up Midnight Club 3 and I got P.N.03 for GCN for only $7.50. I remember reading heavily mixed reviews about the game and that it appears to be a cult favorite of sorts, and figured for that price I may as well chance it. Anyone else play it before and have any input on it before I start the game up? Joe, Chris, and I had a pretty good time trying out Midnight Club 3, the new Burnout Legends Demo, watching the Family Guy movie, and finally getting a bunch of Gold Medals in some Burnout 3 crash junctions.

-I saw that 'A Lot Like Love' movie after reading Kubryk's excellent review for it. His review was right on the mark too as I enjoyed nearly every bit of that film. The whole time skipping in it reminded of Boys and Girls (a very underappreciated film IMO). Ashton Kutcher has been on a role lately, Butterfly Effect shocked the hell out of me, and this one is going to rank up their as one of my favorite romance comedies too.

-Man am I surprised at how well the Niners have done during their preseason. 2-2 is pretty damn good, plus they gave the Chargers a close run for their money too last Thursday in their narrow loss. Usually the preseason means nothing and teams that go undefeated in preseason are known to completely fall apart during the regular season. However, if the Niners keep it up than Big Play Rattay looks like he might be this year's Drew Brees if he manages to stay healthy. They'll still prolly end up finishing around 4-12, but I'll still keep my fingers crossed for them.

-Well I have yakked for long enough so I'm gonna get some zzzs, and I'm sure most of you have probably skipped this entry alltogether by this point, but if you haven't then thankee for listening!
