-How about that Super Bowl? I almost had the scored pinned down exactly if the Seahawks would have scored on that last drive. I predicted Steelers winning 21-17. Not the most exciting Super Bowl, lots of sketchy calls on the refs ruined it for me. At least there were some entertaining commercials. The grizzly bear and magic fridge Bud Light commercials stood out the most for me, along with the crime deterrent cell phone. They actually allowed you to vote and watch each individual commercial at tv.com. I brought Joe and watched the game over at Rich's with his wife and Justin with many rounds of Smackdown vs RAW 2006 in between. Had a pretty good time except for Rolling Stones almost putting us to sleep with their bore of a halftime show.
-Had a 3 day weekend due to our boss giving an extra night off for the Super Bowl. Recorded another podcast with Chris, but technical difficulties turned it into a piece of crap so we gave it another go and it turned out half-decent. Our show is focusing more on gaming discussion than news that the many other podcasts do so well. This episode we recorded focuses on system launch stories, 360 impressions, and our Top 5 Dreamcast games of all time. Once Chris is done editing it, I'll post a link here.
-Did lots of gaming with Scott and Chris as well over the weekend. Mostly Perfect Dark Zero and Halo 2. I am really enjoying Perfect Dark Zero lately, after tired of all the modders and stand-byers on Halo 2 last weekend, Scott, Chris and I decided to take out our aggression on some bots in PD0. We found an ideal set up by making it be just the 3 of us against 13 bots in the Desert stage with bases 3 + 4 open. Scott would provide sniper cover from the cliff top while Chris and I defended the middle choke and make sure the comp wouldn't hack into our second teleporter in the cellar. Of course going against that many bots the difficulty would be set on Agent, but we still manage to blow out the CPU with most final tallies in the vicinity of 100 points to 15 or so. I have also been playing a bit of coop online with Mike a lot lately too. I am surprised at how smooth everything runs online and am still baffled on why Halo 2 couldn't do it.
-I also got over 200 points added onto Xbox 360 Gamerscore by getting several more multiplayer achievements in PD0, and unlocking all the characters in DOA4, along with a few other minor awards in PGR3. I am digging the whole gamerscore portion of Xbox 360 a lot as it compells me to play more and spend more time in game's other modes I usually don't give all that much time too.
-I made $5 last another 30 minutes or so at the bar last weekend on blackjack. I went to a going away party for Earl, one of Bob's friends I know. Had a few beers, and plenty of food. Earl was a cool guy and I'll miss him.
-New DVD purchase: Waiting. That movie rocked in theatres, despite everything that the Kooby had to say about it. The DVD (widescreen version anyways) has a boatload of extra features that I highly recommend to anyone that has worked in any branch of the restaurant industry.
-Tiz all I got today...latez!
