-Hello everybody! I am just wrapping up nice extended weekend. I only worked 1 of the past 5 days, and I managed to make the most out of it. It started out on Thursday night where we got an extra night off where Brent and I met up with Ann and her friend Stu for a couple rounds of bowling. I did right around my crummy average and games of 105 and 87. I stayed up for almost that entire day so I could try and get a normal sleep pattern going. Spent the extra time getting ahead on a couple of papers for school, and getting back into Oblivion. Speaking of that it was what I did for the most part on Friday night. I actually met up with Chris and Joe and we set up 3 televisions and we all played Oblivion on the 360 and just exchanged tips with each other. It was quite one helluva lan party. Got home and played a lot of Burnout and Halo 2 online. I'm starting to get better at multi-team again.
-Saturday was a fairly busy day. Family celebrated Adrian's birthday at Happy Joe's. Can't believe the little guy is already 4. Seeing him open his gifts and all reminded me of how our family use to record birthdays and Christmas's, so I asked my mom is she still had the tapes, and she popped in a video from 10 years ago, and boy was it different to see how much everyone has changed. Shortly after that I met up with Bob and his rommate Chris to watch a local Toughman Fight competition. It consisted mostly of boxing and mixed martial arts and went on for about 5 hours. Some fights were pretty sloppy because of most of the fighters being locals and not knowing how to fight, but there were a lot of entertaining ones, and I enjoyed it a lot. Afterwards got some drinks at a bar and then visited a short while at Bob's and with Ben, Mike and Chris some more as they showed off the Godfather game. I can finally say someone now knows how to make a good GTA-clone.
I ended up going home shortly afterwards and just stayed up for awhile watching the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. Good to see Bret get his closure in the WWE and going out on a high note, Steve Austin's cheap shot at the Hulkster was also amusing, as was Okerlund's end to his speech. Sensational Sherri was this year's Iron Sheik of the event and looked to have been sporting a little buzz which made her speech especially memorable. All in all, another good year of inductions. Now put Owen and Bossman in next year dammit!
-Sunday I spent mostly at Buffalo Wild Wings. I was planning on going there around 5:30 to get there a half hour early for their showing of Wrestlemania 22, but Shawn gave me a ring around 1:30 asking to watch the NASCAR races with him there. So I figured why not and got there about 2pm. Shawn and I were having a good time watching the race and was actually about to join me in watching wrestling too, but then his favorite driver Kenseth crashed with 8 laps to go, which resulted in pissing him off and immediately leaving for home. I ended up getting the best spot in the building for the PPV, directly in front of the big screen. Steve and Bob joined me later on in the night and we had a good time watching the PPV. All in all I had to say it was a mighty good show, but the alcohol probably had a bit to do with that. It sucks sometimes there because the audio is somewhat muffled in their surround sound, but it felt great watching it with a crowd. Edge/Foley had one helluva hardcore match. McMahon/HBK also turned out to be the awesome spectacle I thought it would be. Money in the Bank was also pretty good, tho not quite up to par with last year's, tho Shelton did manage to have a couple of memorable spots again this year. Casket match was surprisingly watchable between Henry and Taker. I was still shocked to see Mysterio win the belt, even in a shorter match. I was also shocked that HHH lost to Cena in a pretty good match overall. Though I have good faith that HHH will beat Cena in a rematch next month at Backlash. Overall thumbs up, and definitely better than last year's WM21.
-So after Mania I stayed up a little bit then I crashed for a few hours before catching class. Thankfully no hangover. After class I got around to finally getting a hold of Chris and recording the third episode of The Pubcast. You can download it by right clicking here . This show we discussed some of the revealed Revolution stats, the 360 faceplate craze, and discuss all of our favorite racing games of all time.
Anyways that night I went in for the only night I worked in the past 5 and a half days. After that fun shift was over it was then time to celebrate my b-day. It was one of the few times I was able to meet up with all my brothers and sisters and parents. Total of about 13 or 14 of us dined out at Buffalo Wild Wings. Got a nice amount of gifts from everyone. Joe gave me a sweet cloth roll-up Punisher pin-up he got off ebay, and a Full Auto faceplate for the 360. Jane & Shawn got me the Firefly complete tv series DVD set I have been anticipating greatly (and I plan on watching it soon because I only got 5 episodes left of Lost to view). Dad got me a comforter and an movie rack, and Mom got me the Ed Wood DVD I wanted for awhile and a UND hoodie sweater. Ann got me a UND hat and a UND jersey I have been wanting for awhile now as well. All in all, another awesome gift load this year.
Around 10 or so I finished celebrating with the family and met up with Brent and Scott at Applebees for some happy hour apps and taps. Afterwards we headed back to my apartment, and I realized neither of them have played Guitar Hero so I hooked that sucker up right around midnight and we all played it nonstop right up until around 6am. Twas a fun night of pretending to know how to rock out on a guitar indeed and was a sweet way to end my weekend.
Allrighty I dragged on long enough yet agane. Till next time...
