Steve with and1 baller Hot Sauce

-Hey Yo! I am back with another week in review update. Right now I am doing allright, except for this damn nagging cough I have had for a few days now. Work hasn't been as rough as its been lately tho I got a feeling it is going to change this week. Ya last work week did go by fast since I only worked 3 days so that was a pleasant change of pace for a week.

-On early Friday after class I met up with Scott for some lunch and to just chill with him one last time, because it looks like his plans finalized to move to Michigan later that day. I have no idea how long he'll be gone for, but by how he is talking about it, it sounds like it might be for awhile. I'll miss him a bit, and he was one helluva person to game with, but thank god for Xbox Live so we can still keep up our gaming rivalry.

-Friday night the and1 crossover tour was stopping in Grand Forks last Friday, playing against the "Dakota All-Stars." I remember seeing some of the and1 highlights before on ESPN with their insane streetball moves. Steve and I managed to make it to the game. It was one helluva show they put on, lots of dunks and killer crossovers. It was a unique twist with and1's mc/announcer walking about the court calling the action and giving all of our local players silly nicknames that range from typical ones like 'Old Man' to unique ones to our region such as 'Big Country.' Of course and1 ended up demolishing the Dakota Pros by a score of 178-141. Steve and I waited up a little bit after the game by and1's dressing room because he wanted to get his picture taken with one of the players. I felt kind of odd because him and I were some of the very few guys waiting outside their room while there was a good 15-20 groupies waiting to get ahold of them. But after a 15-20 minute wait outside their locker room Steve managed to get Hot Sauce's attention on his way to the autograph table and had me take a pic of him with his cell phone that I posted at the top of this blog entry. That sure as hell made his day. Then he waited about another 20 minutes to get his and the rest of the and1 players' autographs. Good time tho for just $15, and I hope they come back to Forks again soon. After that game, I just kind of chilled at home and played a lot of PD0 and Burnout Revenge.

-Speaking of Burnout Revenge, I just posted my review for the 360 version you can check out here.

-Saturday started off pretty mello, while catching up on laundry I blazed my way through medium difficulty on Guitar Hero. I only had one more song left to beat, but gave up for the time being after a good dozen attempts or so. I am not use to game's medium difficulty level being this tough, but from what I understand this is the norm from most other music/rhythm games like DDR and BeatMania. Later on I met up with Chris and we hit up some stores to see if we could catch any good sales. Target actually had buy any 2 Platinum/Players Choice/Greatest Hits titles and get 1 free. So I took advantage and got God of War on PS2, and Lego Star Wars and Midnight Club 3 on Xbox. Can't wait to delve deep into those games soon. Shortly after that Chris and I went to Kyle's and we played a lot of multiplayer Guitar Hero and Perfect Dark Zero, and watched Payback. I movie I haven't seen since I believe it came out in theatres way back in 1998. I forgot how much I loved that film. It is right up there with Punisher and Commando for my favorite revenge flicks.

When I got back home from that I went on a bit of a Lost marathon and finished off the last few episodes I had yet to watch on the DVDs. I really like the series as a whole, but man was I pissed when ********spoiler alert******** on the last episode where those guys blow up the raft and steal Walt towards the end, and then after teasing what is in the hatch for the last half of the entire season when they blow off the hatch and look in it that is where the season ends. We don't even get to see what is inside. I haven't seen a single episode off of season 2 yet as I forgot to work it into my VCR programming I record when it started so I figured I'd wait until it is out on DVD (presumably) when Season 3 of the show starts this January, but I don't think I can wait that long, nor do I wanna pay $2 an episode off of iTunes. I'll figure something out.

-I finally ordered a new MP3 player last week. I have been searching off ebay for awhile for models that are lower priced that are a year or two old like second-gen ipods/ipod minis or something. I ended up getting a refurbished 5gb Rio Carbon for $135 after shipping. It should be in the mail today or tomorrow hopefully. I checked out some reviews for it and it looks pretty decent, and it won't be anywhere near as bulky as my PSP I use to listen to music and podcasts to at work. Now I can finally trade in my PSP since I have no other use for it cause I haven't touched the games I own for it in months. I might just get a DS Lite now.

-Finally I want to plug a podcast I was guest on the other day. Wicked Pissa Podcast is another video gaming podcast. The host, Brett said the show should be up later today. I thought I had a pretty good discussion going on with the host, he told me later though I had my voice output was pretty low though, so I'll keep my fingers cross you guys can still understand what I'm saying. I plan on buying a new mic today or tomorrow so I won't have to worry about those troubles anymore. Anybody got any recommendations on good, affordable mics that aren't all glitchy. I thought the logitech ones I saw at Best Buy looked right up my alley, but I wanna hear from you guys first.

That's all I got for ya today. Latez!
