-Hey yo, just finished up my last day of class for speech. We did our group presentation today on subliminal messages in Disney movies. I think it went pretty well. A couple classmates told me they liked the powerpoint I did, that its nice to see one that isn't just all text that most people usually just verbatim. I decided to add a bunch of pics usually corresponding with the Disney scene in question. I also decided to throw in a bunch of pics of kids crying to just make it seem like the subliminal messages is really effecting the kids. I thought it went good though, and think I'll do pretty well overall in the class. Now all I got left is one class period of Ethics left on Wendesday and then I'll be done for good this semester. Then I can finally start wasting my summer away in World of Warcraft.

-I did the fourth episode of the Pubcast on Thursday. Got Steve to do the special guest host spot with me. We gave a big rundown of what we hope to see at E3, and our thoughts on memories of what we have done in online gaming. Here's the link for the few who are interested, and as always, feedback is appreciated:

-Weekend went pretty good. I saw Mission Impossible 3 on Friday with Matt and was blown away. I thought it was just gonna be your typical summer action flick but boy was I glad to be proved wrong. The action just seems to be rolling nonstop, and this one actually has a really good story that is fully fleshed out with all the usual twists and turns you might suspect. Matt and I walked out both saying "movies usually arent made this good anymore." Other than that I just stayed up Friday doing other little random errands to kill the day away and went over to my folks because Ann cooked me up some awesome Chicken stir-fry.

Saturday was really fun, it was the much anticipated Free Comic Book Day!!! Though I ended up spending $120 in comics so it didn't end up being so free after all :( I met up with Matt around 7am that morning, and later met his coworker Brian. So us three and Matt's wife rode down together down to Fargo because they have two comic book shops and far better selection then the only one they have here in Forks. Besides loading up on the stash of the 15 or so free comics I received I also stacked up on a lot of the missing Punisher's I had. I got the last two issues I was missing of the 37-issue run of the Marvel Knights series, and I filled up on the dozen or so issues I was missing from the current Max run. And since I saw it I just had to get the Punisher meets Archie crossover. Yes you read right, Punisher....meets....Archie. "Duh, stay outta Riverdale." Thank God for comic shop having 30% off back issues and trade paperbacks. I saved a bundle.

Besides Punisher I picked up a couple of other random comics for my dad. He was a big fan of the old Warlord comic so I picked up a couple issues of the new series for him, and a couple issues of the new Catwoman since that was the last comic he actually liked. I also picked up a couple trade's that Matt recommended. I got issues 1-12 of the Astonishing X-Men trade paperback, and also the House of M trade, and some Wolverine trade, I forget the name but Matt highly recommended it because said it had some of the best writing he ever read in a comic.

So anyone else into comics and took advantage of Free Comic Book Day?

-When we got back into town from Fargo we did a bit of a movie marathon and watched four flicks in a row. We started off watching some crazy Japanese movies (thankfully with English subtitles). The first one was called Battle Royale and is just that damn good because of how crazy it is. All these Japanese students are rebelling so 40 random students are drawn and placed on a evacuated island to be in a Battle Royale competition where the objective is for all of them to kill each other so the sole survivor can leave the island alive. They all get to go on the island with a random weapon they are given. Hilarity ensues as the students all turn on each other and kill each other in a nonstop bloodbath. I can see why this movie is banned in America. The other one we watched was some weird anime-turned live action flick called Kasshern or something to that effect. It was allright, had some cool fight scenes but the story kinda dragged on a bit with it being over 2 hours. We then watched Life Aquatic which I thought was surprisingly good, something about the dialogue and its dry humor that just immersed me into the storyline that not a lot of other movies can do based on dialogue alone. We finished the marathon by watching Napolean Dynamite, and yes I haven't seen that until now. Yes the sheer stupidity of Napolean and the rest of his cracked-out family made me enjoy the movie that much more. Overall, a damn good movie marathon. I need to do these more often.

-Sunday was a bit more mello. Caught up on laundry and studied up for some finals. Later on Chris, Scott, Brent and Zach came over. We did a bit of two player Guitar Hero for awhile and just BS'd about games. We also recorded the fifth episode of the pubcast which was an audio roundtable discussion of FFVII: Advent Children between Scott, Chris, and I. Since the other show just went up a couple days ago we are gonna wait a week before we post it, and I'll make sure to link it here as soon as I do.

Overall, a damn fine extended weekend. Now time to start it all over again.....hoo-rah.
