-Wuzzzzup, I'm in the middle of a extemely rare day-off in the middle of the work week. Usually if I get an extra day off the boss is kind enough to put it at the beginning or end of the work week to make a nice 3 day weekend for me. Not this time, but I managed to keep myself busy enough.

-Fist off, let me talk about last weekend. Friday was well-spent as I did quite a bit of stuff. I woke up early enought to catch Talladega Nights with Joe. Typical Will Ferrel flick, there were a few spots that had the entire theatre in laughs, and other spots that didn't (probably because I saw a lot of the more memorable scenes in the trailer dozens of times already). I didn't like how much of the racing was portrayed, but I guess the guys had to do something to make NASCAR somewhat appealing. Overall though a good movie, but I most likely won't pick it up when it comes out on video, I'll go 7/10 on it. Later that day, Ann called me and wanted me to go sunglass shopping with her for the Tubing we planned the next day. So we shopped around a little bit and grabbed something to eat, then I met up with Scott and Chris and gamed it up with those guys for a couple hours.

Saturday I really disappointed myself, I woke up and just didn't feel like going tubing, I knew the river level was as low as can be which would result in some major boulder scrapage and just a flat-out crappy time. So I called up Ann and told them I wasn't going. I felt horrible just ditching them, and in turn Joe didn't go cause I didn't. So I spent most the day hanging out with him just playing games and all. Later that day Chris and I went to a welcome back get together at Kyle's. I cannot remember if I mentioned it on here before or not, but about a month ago he accidentally shot himself in the jaw while cleaning out his gun. He got very lucky and no permanent damage was done, but he still is in some neck braces and it will be a good while before he is fully healed up. It was good to see him back though. Jim and John I use to work with were also there and I caught up a lil bit with them too, so all in all that was a good time.

-Speaking of how bad I felt on ditching my family for tubing, I realized that is the third fun outgoing thing I intentionally backed out of this summer. First was going karaoke with a couple guys from work in Thompson a couple months back, and I really love karaoke too. Then that party a little over a month ago because it was a wee bit too far outta town, and now the tubing. I mean I did still have a good deal of fun this summer like the first tubing trip, my trek down to Minneapolis, and the concert in Fargo, but looking back I wish I could have made more out of it.

-So now I got this previously mentioned odd day off, and I managed to spend it quite well. Caught some lunch with Mom, and met up with Chris and Scott to record another Pubcast. ( episode 14 download). Then Scott and I met up with Joe and we played some much awesome rounds of Risk for PS2. My brand new copy of Risk is just as buggy as the old used copy I wrote about. It took about 30 or 40 times to get it to boot up the last couple of times we played it, but the experience is worth it. I won again today, and we got about halfway through another round that could be anybody's game. All in all a good extra day off.

-I've been playing a bit of FlatOut 2. It is not the perfect derby racer, but it is a good enough improvement over the original. Online is awesome as it now supports demo derbys and the rag-doll mini-games, and yes the minigames are a hell of a lot more fun and more inventive then before. If you didn't hear of their rag-doll mini games, they involve launching your driver out of the vehicle in a variety of fashions, like into bowling pins, through basketball hoops, and even curling style! If you enjoyed older games in the genre like this before like Destruction Derby, than you'll probably want to check out FlatOut 2.

-As each week continues to go by, I get more and more into the new ECW. CM Punk had an impressive debut a couple weeks back. You can tell by the crowd and the charisma Punk showed that he's going to be something special. I also have been impressed by Justin Credible these past few weeks, he managed to salvage a half-decent match outta Balls Mahoney, and he got in a lot of interesting moves in the first WWE televised match outta CM Punk (including the first person to do a Northern Lights Suplex on WWE TV in several years). Hopefully a couple years from now both guys will be higher up on the roster. RVD is back also, huzzah!

-Any of you been reading Civil War? It's Marvel's mega comic event of the summer and fall this year. It is really good so far. As the title implies, it has all of Marvel's superheroes at odds against each other. Due to a recent tragic event, all superheroes are now required to register and work for the government. Iron Man is leading a squad of heroes that are pro-register, and Captain America is leading his own rebel "Secret Avengers" that are against it. Each issue of Civil War has been a helluva read, with every issue having its own amazing moment and special twist. If you were in comics before and fell out of the loop, I highly suggest getting back in with this story arc.

-Tiz all I got for this long-ass entry, latez!
