-Yes indeedy I got a Wii on launch after 7 hours of waiting in line. Target had 33 wiis, I got there at 4am and was 17th in line. Allright time in all, couldn't play a whole lot of DS since average temp for the 7 hours I was in line (they handed out tickets at 11am cause ND state law says stores can't open until noon on sunday) was about 20 degrees and my hands instantly chapped up. BS'd with some cool folks though, and listed to some podcasts to kill time. I got about a half hour worth of audio blog updates of the experience from me, which is mostly just me whining about how my toes are about to freeze off. But I got it all edited up as an MP3 file which should be hitting vgpub.com's servers within a few days, I'll post a link here when it is up

I only picked up Zelda as far as games go, but it comes with Wii Sports so yay. Crappy thing was even though we were standing in line for systems, accessories were just kinda out there and I was trapped in middle of line, so people at the end of the line ended up getting dibs on accessories before I did and I was in the cold without a classic controller and an extra nunchuck. Oh well, other than that, it was all fine and dandy. Only played Wii Sports thus far which is pretty fun, most of the games are easy and fun to play, though boxing proved to be a little difficult. I went online and was going to download some retro games, but decided to hold off for now, I probably will pick up Pinball tomorrow.

-Last weekend went great, it was an extended three day weekend since I took that extra day off to recover from the Wii launch. Seriously, it drained the shit out of me. It was Joe's birthday yesterday and I felt bad for missing out on most of it, but I did meet up with him towards the end of the day and played some Guitar Hero 2 with him. Friday was a lot of fun too, Chris and I played some online multiplayer for awhile and a few hours of co-op in Gears of War until we completed the first two acts.

Gears of War is freaking awesome. I was a little skeptical at first playing on Hardcore (I usually play everything only on easy) and was expecting to quit back down to Casual within the first few checkpoints, but the thing I noticed hear is that the AI doesn't get cheap, they just get smarter, and it drives me to adjust my game plan accordingly. Big ups to Epic on this one, I am enjoying my experience with GoW immensely at this point.

-Work week is gonna be different until the end of the year, now that it is holiday season which means completely random days off. Only other day off this week is Thanksgiving, then next week I got Sunday and Monday off. You just got to love the craziness.

-Niners beat the Seahawks!? I thought they were gonna get annihilated again, but the Niners have been stepping up their game dramatically. This is their first three game winning streak since 2002. We're just one game behind the Seahawks now in the division. Gore broke the team record for rushing yards, and Brandon Moore is emerging as the new dominant player on defense these past few games. I am going to enjoy this while it lasts.
