-Hey Yo! I have no idea how long its been since my last update, my sense of time is starting to get back on track now that I'm back to my old work schedule and next semester of classes will be starting up next week. I do have one more fun little trek left in me however as this weekend I am going to Madison, Wisconsin to participate in Team Fremont's Daryls . It is going to be a big gigantic party gaming marathon! Should be a blast.
-Last weekend went by pretty well. On Friday I hung out with Joe and Chris. We had a blast with Family Feud and Metal Slug Anthology on the Wii, among with other little bits of other gaming. On Saturday, I spent the first part of the day with Shawn and his coworkers at Wild Wings watching the Chiefs/Colts game. Shawn almost got us kicked out for swearing out loud several times. Other than that, it was a good time. It was a Cosmic Bowling/Risk night out with Joe, Jake, and Steve. Bowling I did ok in, I got three games in and scored 92, 127, and 121. Third game I started off extraordinarily well, but of course I got too excited and blew it in the last half of the game. In Risk this time Joe and I teamed up against Jake and Steve, where Joe and I ended up victorious. Jake is pissed now at losing three weeks in a row. I am all Risk'd out, but Joe for some damn reason demands to play that game every weekend.
-With the Christmas break I have finally found some time to cotinue watching some DVDs I've been meaning to get to for awhile. Saw Changing Lanes finally and it ended being a lot better than I thought. I also watched a few more episodes of Firefly, and that show continues to amaze me. Just a few more episodes left to go, I got the set this past April on my Birthday and have only been watching about one episode a month or so, and someone was shocked when I told them I haven't finished the set yet, my reasoning is because each show (of the first 8 or 9 I've seen so far) has an amazing sense of closure with no cliffhangers whatsoever. While I appreciate their being none of those mean cliffhangers, I don't feel compelled to instantly watch the next episode like I find myself doing with other DVD sets like Lost and 24.
Moving on, now that I own all three seasons of Arrested Development, I started watching the first season and got done with the first two episodes. Like what I see so far, but am not yet in the crowd of "best tv show of this era" like I have heard from so many people. I finished off Season 1 of Chapelle's Show, now I don't know what everyone else things about it, but after finishing that season I felt like that show was my long lost best friend. Being easily amused has its benefits. Speaking of being easily amused, I did see Dorm Daze 2 a few weeks ago and it gets my seal of approval! Thanks again Kubryk (When are the Kooby's going down?)!
-Been a while since I shared my thoughts on the wrestling scene. Triple H tore his quad again in a match last Sunday so he'll be out for at least 3-4 months, which means he'll miss his first Wrestlemania ever, he's been in every single one since he's been with the company starting with Wrestlemania 12. Cena's time is over, has been for a long time now, I hope he doesn't have the belt come Wrestlemania. I'll probably pick up his lame-ass movie on DVD when it's out later this month. Lance Cade looks like he has ate a horse over the past several months, same with Masters. In ECW land I am not looking forward to the rest of Lashley's reigns, he's an ok worker, but he always looks like his body is about to explode at a moments notice. Give RVD the belt, he's sorry for getting caught smoking pot. CM Punk needs to step it up.
In Smackdown.....Batista needs to go away for awhile. He's like a modern version of the Ultimate Warrior. Only entertaining part of Smackdown to me lately has been the Cruiserweight and Tag Team divisions with Helms and London/Kendrick tearing it up. TNA has been ok, almost after every one hour episode it feels like I watched at 3 weeks of programming. It's almost like I have to be in the right mindset to watch it. MTV's new wrestling promotion is starting up later this month called, Wrestling Society X. From what I understand, it's going to be a more underground, Fight Club-esque atmosphere with lots of Metal and Punk music thrown in. It's also going to be featuring lots of talented wrestlers like Sean Waltman, Jack Evans, and Vampiro. Sounds like it has potential, but I am not so optimistic on how it'll fare as a half hour show.
-Tiz all for now latez!
