-Hey Yo! I am dead tired right now as I type this in the midst of yet another class/work week. I guess technically it is my first day of class this week because of Presiden't Day, but it still feels the same.
-Most noteworthy thing happening I guess is a new video game store opened up in town a few weeks ago, I just found out about it and checked out the new store, Rock 30 Games, last weekend with Matt. Ironic time to open it just weeks after the Gamestop in the mall closed down (rest assured, there are still 2 more left in town). Anywho, Rock 30 games has a decent amount of stuff from all eras of gaming. When I was there they had almost all used stuff. It had a decent amount of used PS2/Xbox/360/Wii/DS/PSP stuff, though in comparison Gamestop has a bit more. But they also got a good amount of used games for Dreamcast/PSone/NES/SNES/Genesis/GB/GBC/GBA and even PC to my surprise. Then there was even a small amount of used games for systems like Sega CD/Master System/Game Gear/Atari 2600/7200 and a few other random ones. I walked outta there with Shaq-Fu(Hey, it was only $3 that's a steal for such a crappy game), Speed Kings on Xbox, and Prime for Sega CD (I don't even own a Sega CD, but had to get the game for $3 since it is the only game based on my alltime favorite line of comics, the Ultraverse!).
-I sold my old big PS2 to Joe for $43, and combined with another $60 I had in store credit, put it towards a slim PS2. Since I rearranged my apartment previous weekend, one of my goals was to increase shelf space on the entertainment center. It was the next logical step. Guess my Gamestop had the platinum color model which I didn't even knew existed until then. I remember the slim PS2 being small, but when stacked on top of my original Xbox as seen in my crappy cell phone pic below, the difference in size is astronomical!

-I got the digital box installed last weekend finally. Now I can order my own wrestling PPVs! Screw you Wild Wings! Thanks for torrent references before guys, but I just prefer watching a PPV live more, especially when I have a few friends over. I already got a good Wrestlemania 23 party lined up with around 6-8 people coming over. Speaking of wrestling, did you see La Resistance made their much awaited return on ECW last night? I was probably one of the few people who didn't hate them when they first debuted, and they slowly got better the two years the team was around. Now someone just needs to get ECW the tag team belts.
Speaking of ECW, Mike Awesome passed away a couple days ago for the main wrestler death of the month after Bam Bam Bigelow. That one came from nowhere also, I hate seeing these wrestlers pass away from seemingly out of nowhere at such young ages. I loved Mike's ECW stuff as I had a bunch ECW's earlier DVDs, and he stole the show in his match against Tanaka at One Night Stand 2005. His 70's guy WCW stuff was crap, until his last couple months there where he teamed with Lance Storm.
-Last weekend was pretty fun. On Friday I saw a metal concert with Steve and Paul featuring three bands: Invutero (a band I never heard of who was replacing the cancelling BloodSimple who I hear kick major ass), DieCast, and Sevendust. I saw Sevendust in concert two years ago and they put on one of my favorite concert experiences ever, so I was eagerly anticipating them again.
InVutero started off and well....sucked. They had a good sound, but the lead singer blew big time, I just couldn't stand his voice. DieCast livened things up a bit. They reminded me of Killswitch.Engage a bit. They did pretty well and capped things off by dedicating Goose a metal cover of "Highway to the Danger Zone." Sevendust started off awesome and got the pit rocking. I must have hoisted up at least a half dozen body surfers during their performance. Unfortunately Sevendust had some technical difficulties where they had to take two 5-10 minute breaks to get everything working. Even the singer came out and said....."It's obvious shit's fucked up, this is the longest we've been down." But they managed to finish the set, however there was no freaking encore! Which was surprising because the crowd was very into Sevendust and waited patiently during the downtime.
Odd moment of the night came when I saw a bodysurfer get knocked out right next to me. He got hoisted up into the pit with a pretty decent jump, but nobody caught him...and he fell about 7-8 feet right on his back on the concrete floor Now people were falling down here and there throughout the night in the pit and we'd help them back up no problem, but when me and another guy went to lift up this dude from the floor, he was dead weight. His eyes were open and when I asked him if he's ok, he didn't say a thing and had this very glazed look in his eyes. I went to the guys behind me, "dude's hurt get him out of here" Overall though a good show, but damn audio problems had to leave a nasty mark on the experience
-On Saturday, it was Jane's birthday so the family got together and had dinner at Paradiso. We were going to play board games afterwards, but everybody passed out early for whatever reason.
-Tiz all I got for ya this week. Latez!
