-Hey hey, tiz another week with another unimaginative intro from me. Spring break is next week, huzah. I think maybe I'll spend one day out of that week off from class on homework, and the rest catching up on gaming! And I'll prolly polish off that case of Rolling Rock, yes Rolling Rock, in my fridge.
-Last weekend went by ok. On Friday I saw Ghost Rider with Joey and Danica. I got what I pretty much expected. Not the greatest flick, but Nicholas Cage nailed the role of Johnny Blaze and did a damn good job. Special effects ruled, and were the main reason I wanted to catch it in the theatre because the surround sound was tremendous. Eva's Eva, and we all know the extent of her acting skills, yet she unquestionably has two big reasons why I don't mind seeing her on screen. I would rate it a 7/10. Definitely still catch it in theatres or give it a rent if you have a killer home theatre set up.
On Saturday I had a lot of people over for random gaming. Chris, Joe, Jake, and Scott were all over. We watched The Departed, they all hated the ending, upon seeing the film twice now and getting some added film insight from film guru Kubryk, its making a lot more sense to me. We then played some random games for a few hours. Chris brought over Fuzion Frenzy 2, and y'know what, the mini-games on there are actually pretty fun.
-I guess it looks like MTV's Wrestling Society X project is over. From what I am reading, it sounds like MTV's censors caught an upcoming show and didn't like the fact it had people throwing fireballs at each other and thoughts kids would imitate. So now the show is yanked from its current timeslot, and from what I understand there are several episodes left that are going to be aired in a marathon the next two Tuesday nights starting at 10pm central time. It's a damn shame, that show was kinda cool in a weird way. It did a lot of screwed up stuff, but was far more entertaining than ECW.
-24 is kicking ass yet again this season. I can't believe they already have the president out of commission this early in the season. Shield starts up April 3rd, they already got a 15 minuted transitional/prequel webisode that can be found on bud.tv. Lost is starting to get me back with them slowly starting to solve a few more mysteries and raise a few less questions. I miss War at Home, I cannot tape it since it moved to Thursdays because I'm recording other shows in that timeslot. That is the only reason I want to get DVR right now because of its ability to record multiple shows at once, but I just have this thing where I feel it is wrong to pay a monthly fee to record television. I am considering it lately though, and if the fee is around just $5 month or so I might just get it. Anybody else have DVR/TIVO, if so what are your fees and do you think it is worth the montly fees?
-Well I finished my second game this year so far, Saint's Row is the first I beat in January. I dunno if I should really count it or not, but I beat the story mode in Cars. If it has a story it counts to me, even if it is all races. Another game I played a lot of last weekend was Crackdown. Ryan borrowed me his copy. I played online co-op with Chis, and then got a decent way through the single player later on. So far initial impressions on that game are positive, though not overwhelmingly good at this point. Mostly find myself just jumping for agility orbs more than anything.
-I have no idea why but I have been on a big classic gaming bing this past month. half.com rules for tracking down old games, it is run through ebay so your account works for that too, and all the transactions work like buy it now purchases so you don't have to worry about being outbid or any of that bullshit. This is pretty much all I bought from there this past month:
NES - Basewars, Ikari Warriors 2, Ikari Warriors 3
Genesis - Shadowrun
N64 - Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth
Dreamcast - Armada
TurboGrafx - TV Sports Football, Blazing Lazers
Then here are other older games I got from that new store in town, and other online stores
3DO - Road Rash, Return Fire, Twisted
SNES - Natsume Championship Wrestling
Xbox - Speed Kings
Genesis - Shaq Fu
Sega CD - Prime
Somebody stop me!!!!
