I saw this thread on some gaming boards, and I ended up spending a mighty long time making this post so I thought I would share it hear and maybe it could entice you guys to post your system sellers as well.
------
NES - I was probably around 6 or 7 when I came home and saw the family playing Mario on it, I think that was the only game I played on it for the next year or two
GameBoy - I begged the folks for this for Christmas and got it with Tetris.
Super Nintendo - I remember getting the SNES the exact same month the n64 came out, and the first game I had for it was Street Fighter 2 Turbo.
N64 - Mario Kart 64, still is my fave Mario Kart to this day.
Genesis - I actually finally got a Sega when the super small "3" version came out for $20. Wasn't really a system seller on there but I did hunt down all the games I remember enjoying on the Sega Channel at my friend's over the years like General Chaos, Shadowrun, Tiny Toon All-Stars, Super Volleyball, and Skitchin
GB Color - Super Mario Bros DX
Dreamcast - First system I actually bought with my own money....I remember really wanting House of the Dead 2 so I got that but the DC light gun didn't come out until about a month later so I also got NFL2K and fell in love with football games all over again
GBA - Right now I wanna say it had second best portable launch ever (nothing tops Tetris on original GB). GBA launched with FirePro Wrestling, a Japan series of wrestling games so acclaimed that barely ever reached American shores before and Super Dodge Ball Advance, the successor to one of my alltime fave NES games
PS2 - DVDs, I remember being so amped up for the PS2 because it could play old PSone games I missed out on (for some reason I never really wanted a PSone all that much) and watch DVDs on. I got a collection of about a dozen DVDs by the time the PS2 came out, when it came time to get a game I didn't really know what to get so I just played it safe and got Madden on launch. Later on I ended up really enjoying a couple other PS2 launch games in the form of Tekken Tag and Street Fighter EX3.
Xbox - I got it when it dropped down in price to $200 just several months after it came out. Like PS2 wasn't really a game I liked on it at that time but I did like the ability to listen to custom soundtracks during gameplay and I knew Shenmue 2 was coming for it down the line. So I ended up getting WWF Raw for it which I immediately regretted, and later rented Halo thinking of it as "just another FPS" and within minutes was blown away
GCN - I got it when Metroid Prime launched and Target had a deal of getting Prime for $20 when buying a GCN and it came with a shitload of coupons for other games and accessories too. Unfortunately I never really got too much into Prime that much or many other GCN games for reason I recall stating in previous posts.
PSP - Hype, I never wanted one all that much then all of a sudden a few days before it came out I really wanted one I think after seeing some Lumines videos and hoping that Untold Legends would rule since it was made by same people who did Champion games. Those games were good for awhile but in the next several months I only found myself buying ports of PS2 games on PSP like Virtua Tennis and Burnout, and those are all well and good but I want to mostly play original games on the portable since I only have it on the road so often, and after a year I gave up on the PSP and it became one of the few systems I traded in...which I used to get a
DS Lite - I was waiting for the inevitable new sleek, thinner design, and also by that time the DS actually had games I wanted on it, the two most being Tetris DS and Mario Kart DS.
Xbox 360 - Perfect Dark Zero. I loved the N64 game to death, and was probably one of the few people who really liked this prequel, the campaign is disappointing but the multiplayer is still there as friends and I played it nonstop for several months after 360 launch and still occasionally today.
Wii - Virtual Console and potential it has for future games. I got Zelda with it, but it is still in my backlog pile of games which I hopefully will start sometime this summer

On another note, Ryan started up a podcast called Virgin Filmmakers, where he and another coworker of mine, John talk about indy filmmaking and also do movie reviews and contests. I was a guest host for the first episode, check out their website to download the first episode. You can tell its a first episode too by our lack of audio equipment, so please keep that in mind.
