-Hey Yo! Man do I love summer, I have been enjoying a few more days off than usual lately, and they are timed just right so I still average a good amount of work hours each week. Have quite a bit of stuff to yak about so let's get to it!

-First things first, I beat two more games since my last update.

#10 - Syberia (Xbox) - This was one hell of an adventure game. It took me around a good 15 hours to complete it. I can't recall if I discussed it before here, but it has an American lawyer traveling to Europe to get some final signatures on some paperwork, but ends up going on a grand quest to track down the man for that signature. Very good storytelling, and I already ordered the sequel and hope to complete that by the end of the month.

#11 - Punisher (Genesis) - As I said a couple entries ago, the game froze on Matt and I at the beginning of the last stage. So we decided to give it another go and we made it through and beat the final boss (Kingpin) on Normal difficulty....but we don't really get a true endind. There is a frame of the Punisher holding a gun, and he fires it at you saying "Now fight like the Punisher and try Hard mode." GIVE ME A BREAK!

But yeah, I am now just one game shy of my goal of completing my twelfth game for the year. Sine I am so far ahead of schedule I am gonna try and set an unofficial goal of raising it to 15 by the end of the year. Right now I just started up The Shield on PS2 (yeah I know it's crap from what I heard, but I love the show, so screw it) and I finally started and beat the first case in the original Phoenix Wright on DS so I'm gonna hope to finish those games soon.

-Saw a couple movies over past couple days off....

Transformers - I saw it last night with Matt. Unlike a lot of people I wasn't too familiar with the series (I only recall seeing several episodes over the years so my memory of everyone not names Optimus Prime is shit) but I do have awesome memories of the toys. For the most part I liked it. Yeah, some of the transformer fight scenes were kinda hard to tell what the hell was going on, but the special effects did kick major ass. I would say it would be a dishonor if this film didn't get nominated for best special effects, but there are already quite a few other good ones this year now that I think about it (Spidey 3). Other than Bumblebee spouting out random smooth-move tunes in that one scene I liked how there wasn't all that much of a soundtrack during the actual film, just a shitload of bass for the slow-mo fights which looked freaking wicked.

Parts that put a damper on this film and took away from it being top notch to me were the over-abundance of product placement (goddam Mountain Dew decepticon!, more GM vehicles than I could count, Burger King, EGM, iPod, Xbox 360, Taco Bell, GPX, and much more......its worse than Irobot) and a bit too much comic relief in the middle of the film. That whole scene where the Transformers are trying to hide from the kid's parents was too over the top for its own good. Overall though, very awesome flick that I can easily recommend. 8/10

Shooter - Chalk up another hit for Mark Wahlberg. I wanted to see this in theaters but I just didn't get the chance. Scott brough it over earlier today and we watched and man is it good. A former marine sniper is set up in an assassination plot, and now he wants payback! The plot has way more depth to it than that, but you get the jist of it. Wahlberg just nails the role. He has a great supporting cast and film is just filmed incredibly well. It's from the same guy who directed Training Day, and you can tell this is a high quality flick. I can now say without a shadow of a doubt Wahlberg is my favorite actor of this decade, the last series of flicks he has been have all been winners to me (Italian Job, Four Brothers, Invincible, Departed) and he just continues to impress. 9/10

-Past couple of days off have been pretty damn fun. On the fourth, which I might add is the first time I have had the night of the fourth off from work in a good two or three years, I went with Matt and his wife to watch the Demoliton Derby in a smaller town within an hour from here, Hatton. Even though it's a smaller town, it had a much bigger derby than the one in Grafton from a couple weeks back. It had eight heats instead of five and the action lasted about a good 4 hours instead of 2 in Grafton. The pit/rink used the Derby was also more well designed. I had a blast and it was a very good time. After that we went and checked out Transformers.

On Thursday I made the mistake of making plans with three friends on the same day, and somehow I managed to pull it off. First met up with Matt around 3, and we beat Punisher as described above and then watched this weird fucked up musical about a tranny who sings and is pissed that a guy stole all his songs.....I think the film was called Hedburn and the Angry Inch or something to that effect. Very screwed up film, but it was a trip and a half to say the least. After that I met up with Scott around 9 and we played some Guitar Hero II and Sniper Elite and watched Shooter. Dropped Scott off a few hours ago around 3am, and then met up Mike's new apartment as he was still up since he works overnights too and he was staying up for his night off. Only hung out for an hour as I watched Mike and his roommate play some Counter-Strike, and then I finally got to try Company of Heroes for about a half hour and it was frigging awesome. If I ever get a badass PC, that will be one of the first games I get.

-Been catching up on some DVD television show. Halfway through season 2 of Chapelle's Show which is very awesome as usual. I watched the last six episodes of Undeclared with Matt as he owns that series which is from some of the people behind Freaks and Geeks and it borrows some of its stars too. Pretty good show as it deals with college freshmen in a modern era instead of high school life in 1980, still like Freaks and Geeks more, but this one is a satisfying alternative from the several episodes I saw.

-It's been awhile since my last actual update and I'm sure I missed some points I wanted to talk about, but I think that'll wrap it up today. Its 5am now and I'm ready to pass out. Latez!
