-Hello everybody! So lots of stuff been going on lately, I would say I've been busy with classes but I missed both days this week. Why? Well, let's get to it.
-A week ago my Uncle Royce died after a 3 year battle with cancer at age 52. He fought it long and it even went into remission a couple times. At least his suffering is done and he is now in a better place. The funeral was taking place in the Twin Cities. So earlier this week I rode up with Jane and her kids, and Bob and Summer and their kids followed us to our sister, Sherrie's house in Montevideo, which is about an hour and a half outside of the area. We got there Sunday night, I stayed up 26 hours straight off energy drinks so I could alter my sleep pattern and have a normal day for the funeral on Monday. Don't really know how to describe a funeral, than well...it was a funeral. Afterwards there was a luncheon at Royce's place and got a chance to visit with much family I barely see all that often. Got back to Montevideo Monday night and stayed the night there and had a couple drinks with my sisters and we BS'd most of the night.
Got back into town on Tuesday. Work was very understanding when I went up to them on just a days notice and said I needed 3 days off for funeral leave. During all that travelling, since I was riding with Jane, I played my DS for the longest period of time since I owned the handheld. I got about three hours into the third case of Phoenix Wright. Got a couple more songs knocked out in Elite Beat Agents. And finally started up a couple DS games that I never made time to play yet: Clubhouse Games and Metroid Prime Pinball. Only played through first 4 or 5 Clubhouse Games in stamp mode, and it is about what I expected out of it. Pinball is freaking awesome though, it reminded me a lot of Alien Crush on the TurboGrafx, and was just a blast to play with all the crazy powerups it had going on.
-So past two weeks I spent way too much on new DVDs. For new releases I ended up picking the re-release 2 disc special edition of Commando, Deathproof, Condemned, and the 2-disc version of Knocked Up. Damn you new releases!!!! Didn't get a chance to watch any of those yet, but last week Chris and Scott came over and Chris brought Wild Hogs over, which I always wanted to watch. There were a couple parts I could have done without, but I really liked it for the most part, and it is good to see a lot of those actors (Macy, Allen, Lawrence, Travolta) who haven't really been in too many big flicks lately, get one more nice payoff.
-I'm helping Matt and Danielle move to Fargo next week. Last week they wanted to move their couch down there just to get it out of the way as the biggest and most bulky thing of the move. So us three and Matt's dad loaded the couch up on the truck and took it down to Fargo. Unfortunately, the damn couch just couldn't fit after we spent nearly an hour trying to get the couch in from many different angles. There was a chance to get it in if we took off the front door, but that thing was drilled in tight and we didn't have a drill on us, so we ended up taking it back to Grand Forks. I was surprised Matt wasn't too bummed out about it, he took it pretty well and just said he'll buy a new couch.
-Halo 3 came out just a couple days ago, probably one of the most anticipated games to come out in the US in quite some time with over 1.5 million preorders. Gamestop had a midnight launch I was planning on going to, but had to miss out on because of the funeral. Tuesday night though when I got back into town I met up with Chris and Scott around 8 and we plowed through the first 6 campaign levels in about 4 hours until Chris had to take off. We got to the point where Chris and Scott left off the day before, and since those two already beat those levels prior, I didn't really get a chance to explore the levels and immerse myself in the experience because Chris and Scott were just plowing there way through, but it was still really fun regardless.
After they left I ended up staying up until about four in the morning re-adjusting my sleep pattern yet again, and was going to take a little nap before classes started at 8am, but something happened where I musta forgot to activate my alarm or just hit it off and went right back to bed because I woke up and realized I overslept all my classes, which was a big bummer because I had an exam and quiz and presentation to do in all three of my classes. Luckilly, I was able to take my Anthropology quiz online, and my exam was a take home exam that isn't due until Monday that I just picked up, but I still haven't heard back from my Humanities teacher yet. Hopefully things will work out.
-I'm done rambling on yet again. Latez!
