-Hey Yo! I don't think I have a whole lot to say this week on much of anything, but I got a few little tidbits.
-Went to a Ozzy Osbourne & Rob Zombie concert in Fargo with Steve a few days ago. It was a blast, well, minus the fact there was no actual pit, it was all assigned floor seating, at ridiculous prices to boot. The exact same act, with better openers (Mudvayne & Soil compared to just In the Moment here) and a non-assigned "pit" floor came to my town for the just $50, where seats in the front rows for this show went for $100. Bullocks I say! I loved Zombie, he was awesome as usual, but crowd just didn't seem to be into it, but they went apeshit for Ozzy. Which was the complete opposite for the show in my town in 2001. Both guys gave a damn good effort it seemed and I had a good time, even considering it was seating and I only had 2 hours of sleep going in.
Before the show Steve and I scored some random radio station beanies they were giving away, and Steve got one of those guys selling assumingly knock-off concert shirts outside the arena to lower the price of his shirt from $20 to $10 (they were going for $40 inside), thought that shirt will prolly wreck after its first wash, it's good to see Steve didn't shell out $40 for a shirt, but he happily spent $30 for an Ozzy beanie....already after the fact that we got free beanies from the radio DJs.
-So what did I do for Halloween? Did I party all night? I wish, I ended up working again, this time decked in Hulk Hogan outfit, well just the shirt and bandana anyways, I didn't bring my crappy foil/string wig cause I knew it would fall apart within minutes at work, I need to find a better wig dammit! If I got any trick-or-treaters, I slept through them knocking at the door, but I prolly didn't because I don't recall getting any of them the past few years at my apartment.......well I prolly slept through them on those years too.
-In gaming-ness, I picked up Guitar Hero 3 this past Sunday (what an odd day for a game release), and didn't get a chance to put too much time into it as I am only through the fourth tier of songs thusfar....but I am totally digging the song selection though. Did several rounds online, and am impressed I didn't run across a single second of lag, as before I was very skeptical of going online because just the slightest millisecond of lag can throw off my timing for a game of that nature.
I rented Stranglehold and got through the first stage in that game. It reminds me of Dead to Rights a little bit, just a little more crazy and off the walls with all the insane moves Mr. Tequila can do........and I love it! That is my type of mindless action game I know and love! Which reminds me...I've had Max Payne 2 sitting away for the longest time and I need to start it up. I also finally got around to starting up Eternal Sonata. Only got through the "intro" part of the game which was around an hour and a half and led to the game's opening credits. I don't get around to playing many RPG's (though I love to collect em!) but I am liking this one a lot, and it is surprisingly a lot more accessible than I anticipated.
-Watched quite the fair share of movies on my last set of days off. Joey came on one of them and we watched Condemned, as you can tell from my last DVD review entry, I loved it....Joey was liking it though until the ending, just because of the fact that we didn't see any Navy Seals come to the island(Where's Charlie Sheen when you need him?). For the second flick, Joey, Chris, and Scott came over and we watched.....
Dead or Alive - This is my second time watching it, but this time in top quality. Now that I saw it twice and let some perspective sit in, I can honestly say this is pretty darn good. Just turn your mind off and avoid many of the insane plot gaps (just like the DOA games) and enjoy the ride. Jamie Presley actually does a pretty good job as Tina, and the other DOA vixens are fairly represented, hell there's even a DOA volleyball scene. The movie just doesn't takes itself seriously, and it seems like everyone had a fun time with it, and to my surprise Joey and Chris ended up liking it a lot too and it got a few chuckles out of them as well. For a videogame flick, it's pretty good (not great though, MK is still my fave), and for being a videogame flick that is a feat in and of itself. 8/10
-Man, the Niners are blowing this year. Damn you injuries!!!!!! Thank goodness the Niners are in the worst division in the NFL where they actually prolly have a decent chance of taking the division at 7-9! I really wanna see that happen in the NFL one year! One day I went through the possibilities and I determined that the lowest amount of wins a team can have to take the division is 6 and still make it to the playoffs....I hope that is correct. C'mon Niners, just four more wins, you can do it!
-Tiz all I got this week, latez!
