-Hey yo! Sorry for the later-than-usual update, but I have been mega busy! Damn you school, damn you real life, that is what says I..dat-dem-der-dis-dat!
-So many new games coming in, absolutely no time to play them! So last week I ended up purchasing four (!) games. I only started the week knowing that one game was coming in on reserve (Smackdown 2008, and also FirePro, but that got delayed and should be coming in the mail from Amazon later this week) and another in the mail (Blue Dragon, scored it new for $9!). The other two I ended up purchasing were Justice League Heroes, on clearence for $13 at Target, which I got cuz I really love developers Snowblind past work on the Dark Alliance games, and I rebough All Pro Football 2K8, on clearence already for $7 after only being out for just four months....that game must have sold horribly to get such a rapid markdown. This week FirePro should be coming in the mail (only $15 new, so not much of a setback), and luckily I got these other 2 reserves paid off when I traded in my Wii, but Mass Effect and Rock Band will be hitting shelves tomorrow, so I will have a shit-ton of new games to play.
Only time I had to play some games over the past week and a half was the last several hours of my last day off where the decision I had to make was finally start up one of my newest games, or do my research paper that is due later today........I had to suck it up and do the homework, which took about 5 hours and practically all the freetime I had left before passing out. I did manage to make 45 minutes in progress in Eternal Sonata a couple days ago and I got my first achievement after a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes playing time! Whoooo!
-Last weekend was freaking stellar! On Thursday Matt and Danielle came to Forks and we expected it to be one of the last time for us to hang out for a good couple months because of the always awesome busy retail season. So we made the most out of it and went to Overtime for Karaoke! I sang two songs, Green Day's "Basket Case" and Talking Heads' "Burning Down the House." I must have done a semi-ok job on doing Talking Heads justice because I noticed some people in the bar kinda jammin out to my crazy deep voice I did for parts of the song and I got what seemed like somewhat genuine applause compared to the usual light token applause I usually receive. So yayyyyy for me or something. After Overtime we picked up Nan and made the drive to the casino...which I was dreading....but somehow I did good, I only brought $30 with me and planned to milk it on penny machines and that paid off in spades as I ended up finishing the night $100 ahead. So that was the third time I went to the casino this year, and the third time I came ahead, what a great 180 for luck!
On Friday, Scott & Chris came by and we made a lil progress in some co-op career in Guitar Hero 3, recorded a podcast featuring a review of Guitar Hero 3 and Stranglehold ( right click and download it here). Then we finished off the night watching Hot Fuzz, I believe that was my 3rd viewing of it, and I keep on enjoying it more every time I watch it. All in all a killer weekend!
-Last night was my Survivor Series PPV party, which had a lower than expected turnout, instead of the usual 7 or 8 people making it over, only 4 people made the trek. Paul, Dick, Dave, and Steve did, and of those four all but Paul was sick, and I worked with two of the three sick all night so if I somehow manage not to get a cold by the end of this week I'm going to consider it a miracle. The PPV itself was decent, but didn't seem particularly memorable other than for Edge's return. I was pretty happy that ECW finally got to have a pretty good match on PPV than what they usually get stuck with, and the good 'ol Survivor Series match was the same sort of awesome I grew up with. But the PPV just felt like it was missing that one great match to totally make me feel it was a PPV well spent, and the Hell in a Cell was about to do that until the DQ finish, but overall, still a decent show.
-Thanksgiving is this week, and as I'm sure I stated on previous blogs, it is my favorite holiday of the year where you don't have to worry about who's spending how much for who, and instead get together with the whole family for some nice visiting, football, and the best meal of the year! Followed up by braving the crazy crowds of the Black Friday sales (which I plan on participating yet again this year *crosses fingers for good luck to get everything I want*)
-That's all I got for this entry.....latez!
