-Belated, ho, ho, ho! Ah, twas another wonderful Christmas. I had a nice streak of days off to go along with it, so it made for a very much laid back holiday. The little bit of classes I had left since my last entry got wrapped up too, and I just checked my final grades online, and for the second straight semester I had As in all my classes.....huzzah! I never had this much luck in high school.

-So I had two sets of two days off (4 total) within 6 days. On the first set my sister Sherrie came up along with here two daughters Nicole and Briana. Lots of visiting and great meals with the family was to be had over those two days. I always like it when Sherrie and her daughters come up, and I had a fun time visiting them. Bringing over Scene It for the 360 helped a lot too to get the family to gather around the television to game it up. Thank you movie trivia game for helping give the family something else to do during the holidays.

-On the second set of days off (Christmas Eve and Day) I went to midnight mass with my dad like I did last year. We got there really early, which you need to do on that Christmas Eve mass to get a decent seat, but I also got to hear the church choir sing the amazing Christmas songs they sing every year. On Christmas Day I opened gifts and visited with some of the family at mom's, then went over to my dad's to celebrate over there. I think this is the first time we really celebrated a holiday at my dad's as he went to great work to rennovate a lot of his house over recent years. My brother-in-law Shawn even said it was the first time he was in his place for 2 or 3 years and it looks like a completely different house. My dad had a very unique substitute for a Christmas tree as well......stacking all the presents he bought in the form of a tree and dropping some strands of lights over it, it had a very different, yet fitting look to the Christmas season. Here is my annual list of everything I got this year....

Scattegories
Cologne
Doormat
Leatherman Pocket Tool
Catch Me if You Can DVD
Xbox Live Messenger Kit
Resume Maker PC Software
Shower Radio
Bed Toolbox for my Truck
Blender
Bobby Gordon Hat
Jumper Cable Carrying Case
Emergency Road Travel Kit

-So how about 'dem Niners! 2 game winning streak, oh my gawd!!! Is Shaun Hill possibly the future of the franchise!?!?

-I finished Chris Jericho's book last week. Very good read, probably the best written and most entertaining wrestling book since Foley's first one. Jericho just has something that made that book a sheer joy to read from front to end, I thought I would get lost where he covered his old European and Japanese days where I would recognize very few of the people he would be talking about, but he managed to keep my attention to the very end. And when that happens, you know you just got done reading a great book. It is very refreshing to see this book bring up a couple topics in great detail that aren't in most other wrestler's books that are published under the WWE Books label like steroid use and wrestler salaries. It's just too bad the book only covers his Pre-WWF/WWE years, I guess that's what the sequel is for, but if you can get by the fact he doesn't talk about his WWF years (he does talk about the process that lead to his signing and debut as the book ends the moment he interrupts the Rock's promo on this 8/99 RAW debut), than by all means check this one out! 9/10

The next book I plan to start up next week is Batista's, which I originally planned on avoiding since the guy has only been around for just 5 years in the WWE, but pwtorch.com, a site I put a lot of weight in, gave it a surprisingly good review because of how Batista tells it like he sees it without sugarcoating anything, so let's hope it winds up being a good read.

Speaking of wrestling, WWE put on another hell of a Christmas to the Troops special this year. I am a huge fan of those, and this is their fifth straight year of doing them! For one night they toss most of the storylines out the window, forget about the fact of selling PPVs, and give the troops the little bit of entertainment that comes their way, and do it in a very respectful and entertaining manner. Props to you again WWE for putting on another hell of a show!

-I finally got around to seeing some movies at the new River Cinema 12 in East Grand Forks. Very nice theater, it has a log cabin setup, and every cinema has stadium seating, and to top it off, all their tix are $2 cheaper than the big chain theater in town. So that means $4.50 for matinees and $6.50 for evening shows. Here are the pair of movies I saw -

National Treasure 2 - This lived up to my expectations and was just as good as the first film, I'm a huge history buff though so my view is just a bit skewed. It was just fun to go along with the ride and follow the clues and learn about our nation's past, I know that sounds cheesy, but it suckered me in for a fun time just like the first one. 10 years ago I probably wouldn't have thought Nicholas Cage would have had this much staying power to headline films, but somehow he manages to pull it off without phoning it in. 8.5/10

Walk Hard - I wasn't planning on seeing this because I thought it looked as cheesy as Talledega Nights did, but because of Mr. Kubryk's recommendation I went to check out this spoof of the biopic, Walk the Line. This definitely lived up to Kubryk's praises, especially so because it seems like the film did a fantastic job pacing out the jokes, with just mild ones at the beginning to give me a slight grin and chuckle to ones that had me not caring about how other theater-goers felt how loud my laughing was towards the end. My favorite was probably the running joke of Dewey Cox ripping off bathroom sinks whenever he went into a rage. This is a heck of a lot better and entertaining than Talledega Nights, so check it out! 8.5/10

-Finally I completed my 18th game of the year - Kane & Lynch: Dead Men! I beat this one with my co-worker Mike in co-op earlier today where we continued off our last play session and totaled around 10 hours to complete the game. This game does have some problems, with some annoying squad AI, and occasionally tricky-camera which combined for Mike and I to take about a good 3 hours to finish one PART of a level! Those things aside, it was still a fun time with a very entertaining story from start to finish. The online is also a lot of fun as I have been tossing that in at least once a week, even though I am horrible at it. I wouldn't necasarily run and out and buy this game, there is a demo out on Xbox Live now and I suggest you try that before you make up your mind.

-Tiz all I got for now, latez!
