-Hello everybody. So the class/work schedule is kicking my ass again after two weeks of going back to class, but I am fighting the good fight and sticking to it. New classes aren't all that bad. Biology is a traditional lecture/exam class but I got a feeling I am going to hate those labs. Had our first lab yesterday with basic microscope stuff, which wasn't all that difficult, but the fact they're an extra two hours is such a drag.

Creative Writing I am enjoying so far, one of the few classes I don't mind reading the assigned readings in. I just turned in my first of three major papers for the term yesterday, a seven day memoir entry. Out instructor says each paper will get the peer review treatment from the entire class and the author cannot participate in it, and just has to observe and take notes. That will be interesting to hear how my paper gets torn apart. Finally, Technical Writing isn't that bad for my night class, instructor has had a lot of fascinating stories and we do almost all our homework in class.

-All this time in class lately has killed a sizeable chunk of my game time. I have still managed to get some in though. I am a few hours into my latest game from Gamefly, Conan. I heard the comparisons to God of War, but haven't played more than 10 minutes of GoW before, so I am not as let down as some and have been enjoying Conan quite a bit. He was one of my dad's favorite comic book characters, and I use to read a lot of the older issues, and I never thought I'd see the day he'd get his own game. It's hilariously gory, and the two boss battles I have been in so far have been a thrill and a half. Whoever thought to have an elephant as a boss in a game is genius!

Also have been playing Pinball FX's new Haunted Mansion table that was out for download. I really like that table, and have been playing the heck out of it thusfar. I also dug out a couple old XBLA games, and got a couple more achievments in titles like Time Pilot and Lumines Live. I picked up Burnout Paradise today, haven't got a chance to throw it in yet, and was kind of skeptical on it doing so after not beeing dazzled like I anticipated from the demo, but a few blogs I've read have said it grows on you almost instantly and I loved the past couple Burnouts so much I decided to chance this one.

-Last week milestone episode number 50 went up for my podcast. It did not take 50 weeks, it took almost double that, about a month from now is the shows 2 year anniversary. If you have the time, please check it out, Chris and I do our top 10 games of 2007, along with a few reviews for games like Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, and Battle for The Pacific. -Just finished watching my tape of ECW right now. Sucks to see CM Punk's ECW title reign come to a somewhat abrupt end on tv, I thought they'd at least make some money off PPV off it. And even though it's the third brand world title, Chavo can finally say he won a championship that meant something more than the Cruiserweight belt......or wait a sec. Kofi Kingston had an impressive debut, I never saw such a unique aresenal of offensive moves debuted before since I saw my first RVD matches. So how about the WWE in HD? I don't pay the extra bones for HD cable so I have no idea, but I am participating the Royal Rumble tomorrow.

I love the Royal Rumble, no matter how hard TNA has tried to blemish the concept by having four of them on one episode of Impact recently, the WWE's Rumble has always been special. Having another PPV party tomorrow, and it will be intense predicting the winner throughout. I wouldn't mind Miz or Morrison winning, but since RAW has been all about HHH trying to earn a spot in the Rumble again lately, he is almost guarenteed to win it.

-I watched the first couple of episodes off the HBO tv series Extras, a British show about a guy who portrays a Hollywood extra, trying his damndest to manage a line or two in a film. Show's been hilarious so far each episode is named after the episode's special guest star. The first two I have seen were Kate Winslet and Ben Stiller. Ben Stiller is freaking awesome in it. However, I gotta savor each and every episode as the complete series DVD set I have only consists of 12 episodes and a special.

-I also picked up a new DVD upconverter, a Phillips 5960. I don't want to invest in HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player just yet, I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting a PS3 after college, but I heard DVD upconverter players are a nice step up from regular DVDs to get them looking near-HD quality. The Phillips player also had HDMI which was a big plus for me. THe player can display up to 1080i, but I've been told to only display in 720p, I even had a couple DVDs bug out in 1080i on me. However, I have had mixed results with actual picture quality. First DVD I popped in was Go, and it looked grainy as shit. I tried a million settings and it continued to look like crap. I have no idea why, I thought the player was fubar'd and was getting ready to return until I decided to try out some other DVDs. FF7: Advent Children looks amazing! Other DVDs I threw in like Gamers, Fight Club, and a few other looked acceptable, old matches from the Shawn Michaels DVD set didn't look too desirable, so I guess it is a give and take with my DVDs which is kind of disappointing, but oh well.

-I saw Cloverfield yesterday with Angie. Yeah that flick was quite interesting. It doesn't really explain anything, but from the viewpoint they're shooting from I never really expected it either. Would've been nice though. I dunno, it's hard to form an overall opinion of the flick when it's done in one of those home-movie style of ways like Blair Witch. This one was a bit more entertaining and intense though with the "OMG Monster, RUUUUN!" vibe to it. It was an interesting experience at the theater though.

-I seem to be one of the few people who actually enjoy Uwe Boll's awesomely bad films. A lot of co-workers always gave me crap for buying, yes actually buying not downloading or copying his movie and even attending them in the theaters. I just love seeing his latest disasterpiece, yes, disasterpiece. Call me crazy, but dammit I'd be lying if I said I didn't respect the guy either. He doesn't try to sugarcoat anything, he keeps up the timed-honor tradition of making super-cheesy videogame movie, and he does it in spades. I recommend checking out this interview I found off of Fox News' Red Eye, and he is just brutally honest with his opinions. C'mon his first response to his question is, "Why are you the go-to guy for videogame movies"......"Money." - http://www.foxnews.com/redeye/index.html (thankee Jeff Gertsman's blog for the link!)

Speaking of Uwe Boll, I did get the chance to see his latest disasterpiece in the theater with Chris last week, so here is my two cents on it:

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale: Yes indeedy, I went out and saw Uwe Boll's latest masterpiece a few days ago, and it is by far his best work yet........which obviously isn't saying much. It's a truly mediocre LOTR clone, and Burt Reynolds looks like he is stoned throughout the flick. But the action is decent, and Jason Stethan and a few of the other costars did some good to my surprise, and considering it's Boll, it is actually a half-decent flick. Nothing outstanding by any means, but not all that terrible either, and on the Boll curve, that is saying a lot. 5.5/10

-Tiz all I got for now, latez!
