-Heyyy hey everybody. I swear I am on autopilot the past couple of weeks. As I anticipated, and just like last semester, an actual real life week, feels like a day and a half to me. So much going, so little time with class, homework, and work, and managing to find time to hang otu with my friends. Classes are going splendidly though.

I am really digging Creative Writing thusfar. Our first major paper was due a week or two back and we are in the process of "peer review" now where during class you are not allowed to talk while your classmates critique the highs and lows of the paper. The peer review for my paper was last Thursday and I did it on the recent camping trip with my dad. I had no idea how it would be recepted, as the teacher asked how an "lifechanging moment" to be discussed and I didn't think this would be what was anticipated as other papers I read thus far were great reads on marriages, breakups, and deaths. But to my surprise, it seemed to be received well, and I kept the feedback fresh in my mind and already put a good amount of work into the rewrite.

My other classes are allright, Technical Writing is all about formatting memos and resumes, and stuff of that nature, and since it is a three hour class, once a week, we get our work done in class and there hasn't been any homework yet. Human Biology is the only one that requires a lot of dedication as there are lots of notes to keep tabs on and lots of quizzes, our first exam is going to cover 5 chapters, so it will require a ton of extra studying.

-So how about that Royal Rumble! It delivered in my book. As much as I fucking hate John Cena, it even pains me more to say I was pleasently surprised at his return. It was one of the few genuine surprises in wrestling in the past several years. I was on the bandwagon that I thought he woulnd't be back until around May or June. As much as I hate him though, the past two Mania main events were an experience and a half with him and how the crowd just loved to boo him. It just gave the event a "big time" feel you don't get with a good amount of main events. As far as the rest of the PPV, Edge/Rey was a good title match, as was Orton/Hardy but I was expecting a bit more from that since it was Hardyz first title match in nearly six years since his awesome ladder match with Undertaker, and I was expecting him to put on quite a show. I wasn't going to order No Way Out since it's usually a skippable PPV, but dammit I didn't expect them to already have Orton and Cena on that PPV and not one, but TWO Elimination Chamber matches!!! Damn you WWE and your insane PPV prices.

-In other wrestling related news (I know you love it!), I saw Brock Lesnar's UFC debut, courtesy of the 17th or 18th link I found on youtube. No way I'm paying $50 for a minute and a half fight, I love the legitmacy of it, and they are intense as hell....and I love attending local shows live, but UFC's rates are insane, I'd rather just drop a fraction of that on the DVD release. Brock was impressive and was literally in command for all but the last five seconds where Mir reversed into Kurt Angle's ankle lock/grapevine which led to a nearly instant tap out. Brock looked a little lost with what to do in a guard position and looked puzzeled and hesitant to apply a submission, which led to his downfall. I hope Brock sticks with UFC, as I could easily find myself becoming a fan.

I finally gave Smackdown vs RAW 2008 for 360 some serious gametime last weekend. I played a lot online with Mr. Jeremy Peeples. We had some awesome title and TLC bouts. Dunno whether I like it more than 07, it's very stripped down in amount of moves you can do in comparison which kinda sucks, but they took away the stamina meter which is a big bonus, but the new submission system just doesn't do it for me. I have no idea, but I'll see how things pick up from here.

-I also got around to playing a couple other games online I have been meaning to lately. I played FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage with Joey. The game has only been out for about 3 or 4 months in America and already the online competition is almost deserted. I bet they're all playing Burnout Paradise. A few people ended up joining with Joe and I's player match, which led to the required 4 player minimum for ranked match play, and eventually we got 6 players. But what a hell of a 6 players they were. They were the few leftover hardcore fans of the game and derby racing genre, as I brought up past Derby Racing games I loved like Crash 'n Burn and Test Drive - Eve of Destruction, and they too shared great memories of both games. One of them said this was the most amount of people online in Flatout UC in weeks. It felt good re-experiencing that game, and I need to put more time into it.

I did pickup Burnout Paradise, only put about 2 hours into it so far and am only at a C license. Dunno if I really like it or not. I still don't know if I like this open city, I desperately wish the developers would have added a "restart event" option if you fucked up and missed a turn, but nope, you have to drive all the way back to the new starting point instead. That sucks, but on the flipside I seem to be in the minority who favor the crash mode called "Showtime" which instantly enables crash mode anywhere in the city. I'll give it more time and see where it goes from there.

-Twisted Metal Head On Special Editon comes out this week for PS2. Anyone else getting it? It's only $20, I thought it was ok on PSP but that analog nub killed it for me, I loved Black on PS2, and I think the PS2 Dual Shock controls will work wonders for it, and I am anticipating the lost Black 2 levels and documentaries I heard the developers at Eat, Sleep, Game added in too. Bummer there's no online though, I still have my complementary Black Online disc which was free for registering the network adaptor, I have no idea if anyone still plays that though. It was fun the few times I did.

-So how about that Super Bowl? I went to a coworker's to catch it with about a dozen other people that had plenty of kickass food, superbowl standard mouthburning chili included. Unlike the slopfest boring superbowl that was the steelers/seahawks, the pats/giants game was close and competitive throughout. Both teams showed intensity, and there were far less penalties than your average football game. Just cause it wasn't high scoring doesn't necessarily equals instant boredom like I heard from others. Don't discount the fact there was some great defense played on both ends, and it wasn't like each series was three and out, progress was made, but each team had to frigging fight for those yards. Very entertaining, as the Super Bowl party I was at were into it for literally every play, and some of the best defense in a Super Bowl played since the Bucs victory over the Raiders. By far, out of all the Super Bowls I've seen (been watching since 24), I would rank this in my Top 3.

-Got a new podcast up last week, we have a videogame movie double feature, we cover Uwe Boll's latest disasterpiece, In the Name of the King, and then possibly the best videogame based movie ever, the King of Kong! Download - http://www.vgpub.com/pubcast/vgp-ep51.mp3

-So as I stated above, I saw King of Kong, I saw it with Chris. Tiz a documentary about two guys battling over the world record high score for Donkey Kong.....yes you read that right, and somehow the director made it entertaining as hell. I could go on to rave about it, but I'd suggest getting the rundown by downloading my podcast. Chris also got a PS3 and we monkeyed around with it for a little bit.

I'm surprised I held off on getting a PS3 thusfar, before it seems I snatch up most new systems within a year of their release. I think my plan right now is to hold off getting one until college graduation a little over a year from now. I got so many DS, 360, Xbox, and PS2 games backlogged to play I'll have plenty to tide me over until then, and by that point the PS3 will be on it 18th SKU.

-That's all I got for now.....class starts up in under an hour...gotta jet!
