-Summer is winding down, and in a few short weeks I'll be back in class. One more year, than I will finally be done!

-Had some unfortunate vehicle problems last weekend. On Saturday, I went to flick on my headlights, and had to fiddle with the slightly jammed switch a little to flip it all the way. However, in the process I must have jammed a sensor somewhere because only my parking lights would turn on. So I quickly drove home before the quickly approaching nightfall. My luck, since all autobody shops were closed on Sunday, I had to wait until Monday to get it fixed. The new headlight switch only went for around $65, but with labor, the stupid grand total culminated to $235. An interesting side effect that resulted from the headlight troubles is that I got a call on Sunday morning around 4:30 am from a particular individual that shall remain nameless, requesting they know someone who hasn't come home from the bar scene yet and wanted me to venture into the twighlight searching for said person. I told the caller my situation, and how they had the worst luck of picking a night for this to happen. Luckilly, the person in question happened to stumble upon a ride home an hour later.

Other than the crappy headlight situation, that Saturday went all right. I only had that day off that weekend because I took some other days off early in the following week and had to make up for it. So I hung out with Chris for awhile and we did our usual podcast recording/Rock Band session. After that I met up with Dick, and we caught up on some wrestling videos, and rolled out the (not so) classic RAW 2 on Xbox.

-Speaking of taking a couple extra days off, those days occured earlier this week when I went down to Fargo to help Matt move. Since I've been hanging out with him again in 2005, this has been his 4th year in a row of moving. When I pointed that out, he actually corrected me and said since he originally moved out of his folks into a place with me shortly after graduation in 2001, he has moved to a new place at least once each year. Wow, I can't imagaine being on the move that often. Him and his wife did upgraded to a pretty slick town home. Like last year, he also recruited the help of a few of his coworkers, and we had a brisk pace set for the move. Last year we only filled up a little over half of a 21 foot UHaul, so this year we went with a 17 footer, and filled that sucker up completely. Only had a little loose ends left over, but that conquered the majority of their stuff, and we knocked it out in a solid four hours flat.

After the move, Matt, Danielle, their coworker Corey, and I made the 3 hour drive to Bismark to see a Alice Cooper concert. Marked the 4th concert I have been to this year. Now admittedly, I wasn't that familiar with Cooper's body of work other Frankenstein, but Matt & Corey were huge fans and didn't want to miss out. However, on the drive down I heard a lot of his past hits I was a little shocked to find out he was also responsible for hits that I knew of, but just couldn't make the connection to him on songs like Poison, Billion Dollar Babies and School's Out. We received decent seats, like last year's Ozzy/Zombie show, there was no pit/General Admission, but instead rows of seats on the ground floor, which was where we were, 12 rows back. The opening band I was completely unfamiliar with, a punk rock band from England called Tat that did a fantastic job at warming up the crowd. Surprisingly good, and I ended up buying their EP inbetween them and Cooper. Cooper himself put on a great set, and the crowd was totally into him. What a great dad to get his daughters involved in the stage show too! He must have played a solid 20 songs. Awesome show all around, but the drive back mega-dragged, as were all insanely tired from altering our sleep patterns, and were up for way too long, which resulted in switching drivers a few times on the drive down.

-While in Fargo we hit up a couple comic shops, and I picked up volumes 2-4 of the DMZ trades by Vertigo. I read the first trade last year, and liked the story of a member of the press getting stuck in a civil war torn section of New York. Can't wait to see what volumes 2-4 have in store for me. Kind of have an idea what volume 2 is about since the awesome guys at the CGS Podcast did a great book of the month feature on it several months back.

-In wrestling happenings I finally finished up the 3-disc Ric Flair Definitive Collection a couple days ago. Never saw a majority of the matches on there, but rest assured they are all types of awesome. Tons of classic Flair promos and a semi-in depth biography of Flair round off the package. I believe I mentioned my thoughts on the documentary a few blogs ago, but if you missed it, it covers the first half of his career through his first WWE run in great detail, yet other than a few big moments, skims along the last 16 years of his career from 1993 on. The California-based indy fed, PWG (Pro Wrestling Guerrilla) released their first mainstream retail release, a 3-disc best of called "PWG Sells Out" for only $15. I picked it up last week to add to my wrestling DVD backlog, and you should too as it features current WWE & TNA stars like CM Punk, Samoa Joe & AJ Styles, among others. Lastly, former pro wrestler Brock Lesnar is having his second fight in UFC this weekend. I saw a little bit of UFC Countdown hyping it up yesterday. Fingers are crossed Brock wins this one, he dominated for literally all but the last five seconds of his fight against Mir and I want to see a wrestler make a statement in UFC......please!!!

-Saw Pineapple Express on opening day. Slight spoilers ahead. Other than some pacing issues and a few other minor events that could have been explained better, Pineapple Express gets the thumbs up from me. Seth totally nailed the pothead who needs to move on with his screwed up life role yet again, now please move on to something else (Zack & Miri looks potentially awesome!). Few moments that got the theater in a riot, the car chase scene ruled, and watching the character Red's ability to absorb pain was beyond awesome. Wouldn't say this is better than Knocked Up or Superbad, but still well worth going out of your way to see. 8/10

-Can't think of much (other than one I'll touch on briefly) major gaming progress lately. Other than the little bits of Rock Band and RAW 2 I mentioned above it has been a busy week for me. Though I did manage to complete act 6 of Eternal Sonata. Like act 5, it was surprisingly short, and only took me about two and a half hours to breeze through. One more act left, and I will finally complete my first Japanese RPG!

-That wraps it up for now.....latez!
