Copied from my blog on VGevo from a few days back....

----------------------

I never thought I would see the day, but after three and a half years On Tap has finally reached episode 100. We are easily the most randomly updated podcast on VGevo, some months we can roll out 4-5 shows, and some months there have been 1-2, thus taking three and half years to reach show 100.

I just want to post this blog saying thanks to everyone who has or (hopefully :) )still does listen. I know having an alternative format means not every episode will be your cup of tea but if by listening to one of our old shows all of a sudden has got you interested or for you to try out a sports game, wrestling game, RPG, watch a horrible video game movie than thank you taking in what we had to say.

I like that we are a little out of the norm and different from the typical show. I rarely hear any other video game podcast discuss the latest videogame film to hit the theaters or video (which may be a good thing in the long run) so I am proud that at least someone decided to invest the time into checking out the latest Uwe Boll "disasterpiece" just in case we finally hear about that one videogame flick that does get it right.

I also love doing retrospectives and was glad we were able to offer a wide variety of perspectives on classic gaming whether it be a look at a popular or obscure console like Dreamcast, TurboGrafX and yes, even the 3DO or the crazy experiment that was 9-part RPG retrospective. It was quite the undertaking but ultimately one heck of a rush dedicating time to nearly every single RPG ever made, and I myself have went out and picked up several RPGs because of it (ala TG16 Tennis and Legaia 2).

So to finally hit show 100 a couple days ago after debuting in 2/2006 (minus our long lost PSP launch pilot episode in 3/2005 ;)), so I had to go all out. I would have liked to have done a live show like other VGevo podcasts have done before, but I just do not have the technical know-how to pull that off and it could have potentially been an editing nightmare. Instead I put together a bunch of past clips for the "Best of the Worst" On Tap highlight reel and brought on several past guests for mini-interview segments, including for the first time ever having my own father on to talk about growing up playing videogames with your parents, which turned out to be an extremely fascinating interview.

So once again, countless thanks to everyone who has stuck with us are gave us a shot before, and if you have not listened to us before than I recommend checking out this thread which is an appendix of all of our retrospectives and specials - http://vgevo.com/site/showthread.php?t=88949

And if you have not yet check out show 100, here is the link to that along with the show notes directly below.
