-Hey yo! As I am typing this, winter is refusing to go away as we are experiencing high gusts and snow just the day before May. Thank you North Dakota!

-Wrestlemania 27 has come and gone since my last blog. My thoughts are kind of mixed on the PPV when thinking about it now a few weeks back. It was still a good show, but it could have been so much better. WWE does a hell of a job with video packages and making Wrestlemania have this big event feel, but they had so many video packages and other segments on this show, it forced them to rush and/or cut some of the undercard matches I was looking forward to. For example, the Corre 8-man tag match they have been building up to for the past couple of months on Smackdown, but the match ended up going under two minutes. I am pretty sure the entrances lasted longer.

The Daniel Bryan/Sheamus match was cut all together too from the PPV and ended up going on the unaired preshow, where it turned into a battle royal won by Great Khali. The Miz/Cena match also felt rushed, and I couldn't help but keep my eye on the clock during that whole final hour and could not really take in the match, other than the awesome entrances which had me completely glued in. With that said, the Undertaker/Triple H match stole the show and told a magnificent story. Easily one of the top 10 matches I have ever seen, and for this match alone is worth getting the PPV for. To hear my complete Wrestlemania recap, make sure to download episode 50 of the Cheap Pop, where we run down the card from top to bottom in depth.

-A couple days ago my coworker Paul had a bachelor party, and his roommate rented him a party bus. Many hijinx ensued as we hit up several small town bars before making our way to a strip club. I got quite toasty that night and had one hell of a good time. Highlight of the night was watching some of the guys play a beer drinking game where the last guy to pound a nail in all the way into a tree stump had to buy a round of drinks, and also discovering a Cabela's Big Game Hunter pinball machine at one of the small town bars.

-Speaking of bars, I recently went to one in town called TJs, which use to be called The Q. When it was The Q, it was pretty much a straightforward pool hall where you can also buy a limited selection of beers. Now it is a hybrid of a pool hall and a sports bar and grill. There are about a dozen booths, where each one has their own small 7" HD tv with cable. I went there with Joey, Adam and Scott and we shot several rounds of pool and had a hell of a time. I may have to frequent that place a little more often.

-Anyone keeping up with the ESPN 30 For 30 documentaries? I finally got around to watching a few more off the box set I have. Yesterday I watched the features on Len Bias, Ali/Larry Holmes and Jimmy the Greek. Absolutely loving these, and am looking forward to see what the rest have in store for me.

-The new Fast and the Furious movie, Fast Five, just hit theaters a couple days ago and I have been trying to get amped up for them by rewatching some of the previous films. Only got around to watching the original Fast and the Furious again, and it still hold up, even Paul Walker's super cheesy tough guy persona is still a hoot to watch! Hopefully when I get around to watching Fast Five I will get in a big racing game kick and bring out a bunch of the classics like I did two years ago right after I watched Fast & Furious.

-Since my last update, I have finished two books. I finally got around to finishing Hall: The Fall of Reach, which revealed a few interesting things when compared to how things play out in Halo Reach. In the game, Reach falls within several days when in the book it falls in two hours. I still would recommend it is worth reading now, because it has the origin story on Master Chief and the Spartans themselves. I also powered through Goldust's autobiography within two weeks. It was a good yet depressing read throughout because it dealt a lot with his past demons and drug/alcohol problems. You can tell they took a toll on him, because he bounces all over the place when covering his career and past accomplishments in the ring.

-Finally got around to finish recording the final installment of the comic book videogame retrospective with Matt last week. It took us a little over two years, and those extra two years saw the release for quite a few more comic book games we got a chance to cover this gen. To listen to the final comic book retrospective installment, right click here to download. Since I am on the topic of the website, I should point out we got the videos of the On Tap WWF No Mercy tournament from MGC online and can be checked out on this new page I created on the On Tap site!

-Now that we're onto the topic of games, let's try and wrap things up as swiftly as possible with the latest games I have been playing.

I finished all the Road to Wrestlemania storylines in Smackdown vs. RAW 2011, and went on to play it in attempt to get the 1000 gamerscore, but one of the achievements is glitched so it looks like I will forever be stuck with 990 gamerscore. WWE All-Stars has been pretty fun, at least in multiplayer anyways; when fighting the AI I usually end up in a rage because of their far-too-frequent reversals. I also experienced a lot of suffering in the five or so hours I spent beating Iron Man 2 in preparation for the latest podcast.

I had a few game nights with Scott since the last blog. We usually kicked off each gaming session with a couple round of You Don't Know Jack, followed by several rounds of Call of Duty: Black Ops online. Speaking of shooters, I have played quite a bit of the Gears of War 3 beta. Stupid Epic making me play a lot of the beta so I can unlock an exclusive outfit for Cole in the full game. Loving it so far, just wish I didn't suck so much.

As usual I have been playing a bit of Pinball FX2 and Williams Pinball Hall of Fame. Pinball FX2 saw the release of the Mars table from the PS3 version last year on the 360. Loving it on the 360 too. Retroids had a community game night I participated in a couple days ago where a few of us met up and played Need for Speed Most Wanted for a couple hours. It is only the second Need for Speed game I have played this gen behind Undercover. I am loving the super cheesy FMV cutscenes.

Spent some time playing and getting reacquainted with a few other comic book games for the podcast. I played through the first three levels to the pleasant surprise that was Batman Brave and the Bold on the DS, and got about an hour into Comic Jumper and Unbound Saga on XBLA.

Lastly I am going to touch on the new Mortal Kombat. I knew it was coming, and knew it would be good since I enjoyed MK vs. DC Universe and all the MK games last gen. I did not play the demo and planned on getting the game down the line since I rarely have it in me to spend full $60 retail price on a fighting game. Anyways, I go over to Joey's place, and he has the MK Tournament Edition which came with a pimped out fight stick and so I try it out, and I fall in love with the damn game and the fight stick. So I get home and order the game with the expensive fight stick online. I do not regret it now, but am sure I will once I see my next credit card statement.

-Crazy long blog accomplished! Thanks for reading!
