-I apologize for this increasingly becoming a bimonthly blog. Hopefully I will have another update here withing 2-3 weeks detailing my vacation to Miami when I go there for Wrestlemania XXVIII!!! I have been crazy psyched for this vacation since I had it all booked up for several months now. As I write this I only have just five more days of work left before I head out. I have a ton of activities planned around the four days I will be in Miami, such as a Fan Expo and the annual WWE Hall of Fame ceremony to attend, so there is plenty to do and a ton of happenings to write about when I get back.

Unfortunately, as has been the case the past several years Wrestlemania is within a week of the annual Midwest Gaming Classic convention I go to every year in Milwaukee, and it made it so it would not logistically work out to both events within days of each other. I am going to miss attending it this year and catching up with so many people I usually get to see and hang out with only during that weekend, but as they say, there is always next year.

-Our store has just started going under a remodel recently which has made it interesting working with tons of jackhammers and other equipment making a racket. Last week we could not get to our office because the aisle leading to it was getting lifted for a new water pipes. Actually, I do not mind it, it has been pretty fun seeing contractors walk around with those hard hats and industrial strength lunch boxes that I use to only see in the movies. Where is my hard hat???

-I have now had my Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone for a few months and am liking it for the most part. Only thing that has not won me over is the digital keypad. I miss my old slide out keypad with actual, physical buttons! The whole "swyping" mechanic works ok, but usually every six or seven words it fills in an entirely different work I am going for. I only got several games on there, all but a couple were the free app of the day from the Amazon App Store. Real Racing 2 looks simply phenomenal on there, I would say right up there with some of the latest racers on 360/PS3.

-I may still be lamenting over the 49ers just missing the Super Bowl, but that did not prevent me from having a blast at a Super Bowl party. I met up with my coworkers Ryan and Derrick and then we met up with a couple former coworkers who had a fantastic set up for the game, and a nice spread of traditional Super Bowl entrees to boot. Had a great time enjoying the close game, and I would have liked the Pats to win, but at least it was a close, competitive and hard fought game on both ends. Never thought I would see Eli win two Super Bowls before Peyton, and I never thought I would see Peyton in a Broncos jersey either if all goes according to plan. It would have been cool to see him go along with Randy Moss to the 49ers, but hopefully the Niners will manage to retain Alex Smith. By the way, if Terell Owens manages to prove he still has it in Arena Football, wouldn't it be cool to see him and Moss both on San Fran for their final season?

-The new $10 Pizza Hut Box is awesome, and a tremendous deal! That is all.

-A couple weekends ago I went down to Montevideo to visit my sister Sherrie who thre an awesome bash for her 40th birthday. She rented out a huge room from a restaurant and I had a great night catching up with family while enjoying my fair share of drinks. Also had a blast watching my three year old nephew endure the ultimate sugar rush. My sister let him have three pieces of cake and a candy bar. Sure enough, he was on one wild ride and it all climaxed in him sprinting around and for whatever reason, licking the sides of chairs. You just had to be there.

-I have seen a fair amount of movies since my last update. I watched John Cena's latest and greatest, The Reunion. Like his last couple of films, it was not all that bad. Not all that great either, but still another surprising decent film from Cena. I re-watched a couple indie favorites of mine in The Gamers and The Gamers: Dorkness Rising in preparation for a podcast with Chris and Lyzz. I also re-watched two films I initially saw in theaters and loved around the same time, but took me around 11 or 12 years to finally throw the DVD in. Yes, they both still hold up and I am kicking myself for not getting to them sooner. This is why I have drastically cut back on the number of DVDs and BluRays I buy now.

-Speaking of the podcast, just a few weeks back I posted the final regular episode of On Tap. We will still do shows, just no longer at our regular rate of two to four episodes a month and more like a few a year. The reason for this is because it kept getting harder for us to meet up to record with all of us getting busier and busier schedules lately. And also, after doing this for about six years it just kept getting harder to come up with unique ideas to talk about on our format of show. This seems like the appropriate next step. Make sure to check out the latest episode though because it is our games of the year show and we have gone all out for those episodes for the last several years. For those wondering, the Cheap Pop will continue to be released on a "whenever we feel like it" schedule for the time being.

-Well, I hunkered down and got a PS Vita. Just like the PSP I had no plans to buy it, but also like the PSP the last minute hype got to me and the so called "gaming sickness" I possess convinced me I needed to have one. So far I am liking it, but I wish the main menu interface was not solely a touch interface. I played a ton of demos right off the bat, and oddly enough I think the game that showcased the Vita the best was Dynasty Warriors Next. The games I played the most were Motorstorm RC and Lumines Electronic Symphony. Loving both of them, and I am looking forward to diving into Uncharted Golden Abyss on there sometime soon. Hopefully I will stick with the Vita for awhile, but ultimately I would not be too surprised if I find myself not playing it a year from now and using it to trade in to the eventual 3DS upgrade.

-Quick gaming update - I have been playing a ton of NFL Blitz and loving it. Playing online is a blast, and after losing my first eight or nine games online I went on a 12 game winning streak. I am still plugging away at Driver San Francisco and really liking that game. Joe and I have tore up Dead Island in online coop the past few days. It is essentially Borderlands and Elder Scrolls meets Left 4 Dead, so yes, I am having a blast with it. Still super slowly plugging away at 999 on DS. Matt and I finished 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand in online coop over three gaming sessions. My coworker Rick, came by and helped me get by some tricky parts in Portal that had me scratching my head for the longest time. With Mass Effect 3 just hitting, I finally decided to pick up my save in Mass Effect 2 and knocked out a mission. Finally, I bought Street Fighter X Tekken and Chris kicked my butt online quite a few times in it.

-Ok, that wraps up yet another crazy long blog from me. Later!
